Have planes got heavier since Pacific update?

I have noticed a lot of planes have significantly less maneuverability since pacific update, I thought it was just pacific planes ie A5M4, but I went to Normandy and p47 seems to be much more sluggish, fully upgraded too, a lot of the planes now seem to require flaps deployed or you will crash.

Anyone else notice this? I am on ps5 here, but some of my PC people say the same.

I will test it tonight and give you a feedback.

Wouldn’t be the first time they “forgot” to talk about a nerf.

Yes I have definitely noticed this, at first I thought I had messed up my dpi settings on my trackball, I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t maneuvering the way it used to and there are actually several aircraft that I’ve noticed this on but yes they definitely seem to be less responsive especially when you’re trying to pull out of a dive

@James_Grove Hello, any changes to planes since Pacific mate, could you please ask Devs when you have a mo?

Them are more “hevier” or simply more hard to use

You are correct. I have reported same in other posts regarding inability to take off from Aircraft Carrier.
Since update, the SBD-3 flies like a lead balloon, if you can get it airborne. Stopped trying.

well at least for p47 i didnt notice much difference… was a brick, is still a brick. if there was a change to it, i couldnt feel it.

There has definitely been a significant change to some planes. I can’t work out whether it is a global flight model change affecting some planes more than others, or individual nerfs.

Of the planes I have, I have found (on PC):

IL series in Berlin campaign are heavily affected to the point of being basically useless for their primary role of ground attack - cannot pull out of even shallow attack runs, and now have massive yaw which they didn’t previously (worse even than the FW was)

109 Series appear significantly affected as well, perhaps not as much as IL series, but still very noticeable. FW seems largely unaffected - possibly less yaw? I haven’t flown FW that much given how terrible the flight model was for it (particularly the absurd yaw)

La Series in Berlin are affected to a lesser extent, but still noticeable.

Yak seems minimally affected, but I need to retest that.

In Normandy Campaign:
Ju188 seems largely unaffected?
FW190 seems improved?

P47 series seems somewhat affected, slightly more sluggish than usual.
Haven’t tested the Lightnings.

Moscow:
IL seems largely unaffected, which is weird given how broken the IL is in Berlin now.
Haven’t tested SBM or Pe.
Lagg (premium) badly affected, cannot be used in intended role of ground attack
Haven’t tested Yak

I haven’t tested anything in Tunisia specifically.

The biggest issue I have found is that the planes affected now cannot pull up out of even shallow, low speed approaches. They are basically a brick when you point them at the ground. I wonder if it is somehow related to the addition of working airbrakes??

On the upside, I love the new audio, and the ability to actually look behind you, and there appears to have been a fix to the underperforming 20mm cannons. Maybe one day we will even get the ability to set our convergence as well!

You have to make extremely shallow dives or you’ll die, it 100% did not used to be like this

I think now they are expecting proper use of flaps maybe? A5M4 and many other planes must at very least deploy combat flaps or booom!

@James_Grove sorry another question, seems to be issues with planes flight models, is this intentional, can you check please ?

Not sure about flaps. I’ve tried with IL-10 and 3m, doesn’t make any difference (and likely to just tear the flaps off anyway) Haven’t really played with flaps for the other planes though

Update
Tunisia: Mosquito (Premium) seems only slightly affected, still able to pull out of a shallow dive
Beaufighter: Badly affected, can’t pull up, also has weird, twitchy yaw going on.
