I suspect the reason why Enlisted’s Major update quality and quantity have been dropping is that half, if not most, of DF’s developers are now working on Matter Game, the team behind Active Matter. Also there used to be a weekly Enlisted Official Stream on Twitch, but it has been AWOL for the past 4–5 months.
On top of that, DF’s priorities feel misplaced. They’re pouring resources into a Ray Tracing graphical update instead of focusing on lighter, less demanding improvements that would benefit a wider range of players. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still looking forward to the next major update, but this kind of treatment can’t go on forever.
At this point, I can’t tell if Enlisted is just stagnating or even declining, it’s hard to know the exact player numbers. But what I do know is that Enlisted doesn’t deserve this kind of neglect. Please, prove me wrong that Enlisted still gets the same care it did 1–2 years ago… but judging by the past few months, I really doubt it.
Looking at this, I realised that during Breaking Dead (2024 April Fools event), the developers did not test PvE, they tested the playerbase if its interested in a whole video game of this, even the music they composed for it is very similar to the one we hear in the trailer.
Sadly their test was an overwhelming success so they made a further test during “Earth Shield” Halloween which was once again a success with many people paying for scraps of content, among them me as well…
As unfortunate as it may be, the reality is that they will probably keep Enlisted active as long as they have financial benefits from it. Recent editions and updates are more focused on sales. There is a certain medium reached in this game, when the entire WW2 narrative goes into the background, and we have more of a WW2 military fantasy game, which the developers are apparently using as a kind of test-ground for their future projects.
It’s already a failed project. There are barely anyone watching it on twitch. They gave away a lot of copies to CBT players as preorder sales were very underwhelming. There are zero engagement around their YT channel, around reddit and discord is 10x smaller than of Enlisted.
Is sad that a game with real potential but bad develooment like enlisted is being left slowly dying alone because a copypaste of tarkov with scary ghosts -_-
If devs are reading the replies of this post WAKE UP SHIT Arena breakout and Tarkov are the ones who rule there you will be nothing but a clown and even more with you horrendous historial of shit remember that AI CAT SAYING SORRY You…gaijin and DF ARE CRAZY ASF to trow an Amazing pvp and pve concept to the trash can and replace it for a pointless idea…
I wanted this game to grow to be an original concept because is literally first game that manages to combine pve and pvp insanellg good (just need some corrections) thats why i have been trowing shit at you all the time about balance and broken nonsense because i wanted this game to be enjoyable for anyone who is on its grind… to make it fair and memorable for anyone who played it
Not to get replaced by another whole concept
And if that game becames more popular than enlisted
at least i wanna enlisted to be updated aswell and supported…
But once again i remembered
“Our feedback never mattered”
Thats why this game being slowly replaced can prove my words
Yet i will still playing this until its servers shut down or there are no more players left…
