Has anyone noticed changes to the AI after the Operation Neptune update?

It is about seven days after the Operation Neptune update, and this feeling has been getting stronger. I was quite busy during the first few days after the update, so I only logged in briefly to test a few weapons or walk around the new maps. I didn’t really play any proper matches.

A couple of days ago, when I finally had more time, I went into Custom Matches to try the new Normandy map. Leaving the map design aside for now, it didn’t take long before I noticed that something felt off with the AI.

Lately the AI has been behaving in a way that feels quite different from before — something you notice almost immediately. I’m not sure if this is just me, so I wanted to ask whether anyone else has noticed similar behaviour since the update.

I don’t pay roo much attention to the A.I. To be honest, I think they should have a update focused on improving the A.I.

What felt off with the bots? They are performing as they usually do but there was an update to animations if thats what youre talking about.

except for the animations they still being the same idiots that cant stay still on a position without dying on the process via exposing themselves to what i was trying to hide them for

whatever at least individual orders work more propelly for me but not the standard orders…

Nope. If anything they are just aggressive as ever… i’m assuming they ramp them up for players who like to be aggressive and move around… or that’s what triggers them.

according to some test i done so far AI reacts faster depending on either they are looking exactly to you if you are using an automatic weapon and if you are doing so much noise (more specificly jumping) or charging

but AI tends to react slower when you change position constantly, crouch or go prone while shooting and finally if you sneak into them and kill them as fast as possible

yet avoiding AI to attack really fast when they detect you is easy when you just wait a little longer so they distract or attack from a weird angle

Yeah, I recognized changes: old bugs appear more often like 1-2 soldiers from the squad start running into the enemies even when getting multiple commands to stay behind the house and the corner. Most time it’s an important soldier like engineer or AT soldier and they instant die

i disagree. average player is so bad, that getting better AI would improve score of bad player and somewhat nerf good player. also players usually improve against better opponents. when you have brain dead bots and brain dead players, then average player wont improve.

Yeah they were not major updates focused on it, but I swear to god, they fixed the “Remain at Point X” and AI blocking the player and Engineer buildings so many times now, I wonder why they even bother.

they should rename that command to say be visible to enemy around this point. also they fixed AI blocking engineer buildings… just that they fixed it for your squad and not for your teammates squad.

In pvp they are… clueless (maybe even more after last update) and in custom they are competitively active, if isn’t that, i don’t know

Speaking for myself, my mates still block stuff in narrow spaces like trenches, sometimes small rooms as well the High BR AT guns and the Soviet AA gun.

as i only play custom games lately. ( since the guerilla update… actually ).
i can’t say they are different…
still dumb than before.

what most don’t talk about though.
is that there’s an ROE ( Rules of engagement ) “”“Filter”“” on bots to players.

try this:
stand in the open with your squad.
what you’ll notice, enemy AI are deadly machines against your Ais.
but they will have a harder time killing you.

i kinda hate it.
either be accurate with everyone… or don’t bother.

not to mention, they still struggle to destroy vehicles.
MF is 20 meters away with a panzerfausts and still doesn’t take it out to destroy my or others bots tanks.
it only happens if you are perefectly standing still, and watching him.

which gives plenty of time to just about anyone to kill him before he… even loosely tries to react.

My AI squad bots are still horse shit, however it seems like the AI Rambo Rambots are more aggressive. I don’t mind aggressive Rambots, however at times it is ridiculous how fast them move. I was on one side of a bus and on the other side clinging half way up on the side was an enemy bot. Before I could click my mouse, the damn thing jumped off the bus and rounded the bus bayonetting me…>All in the blink of an eye. When shooting at them, they scurry like cockroaches as you’re clicking the mouse making them harder to hit at mid ranges as well.

Now our AI team bots, they wouldn’t hurt a fly and have the collective IQ of a bag of wet potato’s. Mine half the time literally will not stay where I order them to, that part has not changed.
