Sometimes it’s a little bit of a pain to get three of the same troops with matching rank for training. Simple solution: it would be nice if you could use the bronze troop orders to buy a rank 1 of a specific type instead of wasting them on random reinforcements. That would make low-level training a bit easier and you wouldn’t be stuck with a whole bunch of mismatched troops.
But for exactly this purpose are silver oders meant not the bronze orders. And right now my actual problem or better said the bottleneck isn’t that there are not enough soldiers to train but training time ( I’m not willing to set an alarm to login and throw new ones in the academy). You get used to work with what you have not with what you wish for.
Silver orders still give you random rank, don’t they? It still makes it difficult to get matching troops.
You can combine the different ranks as well. If you put in 2 rank 1 and 1 rank 2 you have a 1/3 chance of getting a higher rank 2 and a 2/3 chance of getting a higher rank 1.
Silver orders gives me more consistant 1* than the bronze orders.
Hard to believe since silver orders can not give you one stars

I think I understood you wrong, I thought you meant trooper I and trooper II combining. But you mean the ammount of stars they have I think? Then that wont work idd.
One thing to add is that having lots of soldiers with all stars filled and no troop orders encourages you to play other factions/campaigns to get troop orders. I suppose that’s alright, and of course the training system shouldn’t be too easy. Still, I’d like to know if it’s not too difficult to get three soldiers matching in type and rank, especially at higher campaign levels when there are more types and ranks.
No you cannot combine ranks - where you get this from? You can combine different troop types - but they all have to be the same rank.
Managing soldier training is a bit of a skill - I try to ensure “active” squads are full of soldiers who are training, and only use fully trained (starred) soldiers to fill in gaps.
I spend silvers to give me some soldiers to train when I don’t have enough reserves - these days htey are all 2*, with the occasional 3, and rarely 4 or even 5.
But mostly I burn bronze orders getting 1* to fill ranks and then quickly send to academy because it doesn’t take long to finish that 1*.

Yes you can combine type I and type II soldiers of the same “type” - but not different number of stars.
I did this a lot - there is no reliable way to ensure you get a Type II other than paying for it - shuffling the order of soldiers in the academy will sometimes give you that the outcome if going to be a Type II - but sometimes that becomes a type I anyway
