This is probably one of the “hotter” takes I got but I’ve got enough hours in the game that it proves itself true. Don’t attach guns or vehicles to squads.
To better clarify my statement, here is an example. The T20 Auto Garand in the American tech tree is assigned to the 31st Infantry Division. Even if you unlock the T20 in the tech tree, you still need to progress at least 5 levels with the squad which is a high demand considering the squad starts at a 15k minimum in terms of level progression and it only gets higher as you level up.
Personally, I disagree with this. There is no reason for this. I can understand classes being attached to the squad but there’s no need to assign firearms or vehicles either. I just finished leveling up my AT launcher Garand and M2 Carbine upgrade grind for my Riflemen III squad and it took like 2 months.
The problem isn’t simply the high levels but the fact that you’re running with a gimped squad. If you choose to single out the firearms progressions then you’re gonna be stuck with a 4 or 5 man squad that is equipped with only riflemen and one underleveled specialist.
All this does is make the grind even harder for F2Ps for no real gain. Gaijin seems to think this is the best way to farm money out of their consumerbase due to premium purchases but it only manages to alienate casuals.
Yup I’m agree each time you have to restart a squad to 0, it’s even worse if you have more than 1 squad to grind in the same time but No one would play the other squad if we didn’t get that .
Why would we play other squad if we could full research all gun with one
For vehicles it’s les “problematic” but still boring when you can’t take a backup because the other one you could use is locked in the same squad …
Or you’ve unlocked the vehicles but you can’t equip in a same BR squad …
I’m gonna come with the even hotter take, I love this mechanic. It forces me to get out of my comfort zone and use squads I wouldn’t use otherwise. It gives me an incentive to use every squad, and to max out every squad other than the relatively empty “completionist” incentive. It’s a nice change from games that give me 100 things to work with but no reason to use any but a couple “favorites”
I’ve always enjoyed this mechanic since I started playing. Every new squad oh boy oh boy here we go again! Time to start working on this one too!
This is exactly how it should be. This is the final rifle, and the final squad to come from your rifle line. This should absolutely be a monumentous task. Give me one last mountain to climb before I finish a faction in its entirety
Shoot I think the simple barrier of entry to BR III should be about this hard. Force all the newbs to get good before they enter the sweatfest of III-V so we got less complainers and more competent players
I would always recommend only doing 1 low level squad at a time. Just to limit frustration due to having only 3-4 people in a squad when you’re used to 7-9 extra lives. Them bots disappear fast, ya know? Lol
then dont play those weapons or at least don’t get the upgrades, the game is not designed for you to play a single squad forever so you can have all the upgrades.
i bet you do not like the br system either and want bolt action rifles to fight sf rifles. this is not cod grind is the point it is a rpg like shooter its why soldiers and squads have upgrades. i bet you also want to ‘upgrade’ a level one assaulter into a level two.
And you have the right to be wrong, no the duty to be wrong
Because everyone equally sucked with low level gear, sweats with high gear curb stomping noobs kills games dead
I’ve make it worse by playing 3 stock japan squad BR III in the same time, I was in quick research mod then i fought some battle vs BR V US … I was fucked up ^^. Still managed to do some good score but each time thoses squad we’re melting like ice on the sun
Except I have zero interest in grinding Radio Operator II. The game shouldn’t compel me to grind a shitty three man squad for God knows how long just because I want one good rifle.
When did I say to remove soldier upgrades? The specialists should be attached to their squads. But it’s nonsensical that an unrelated gun is also assigned to them since I have no interest in completing everything.
