I’d like to share my general loadouts of grenades and hear from your opinions:
-Rifleman:
-Rifleman I with grenade pouch, 1x smoke + 1x grenade, (in case of large grenade pouch 1x smoke + 1x grenade + 1x molotov)
-Rifleman II with second weapon, 1x smoke,
I generally spam explosive packs, since they’re multipurpose. On some high ROF weapons like the Pedersen or M2 Carbine I might take an ammo pouch.
I like smoke grenades for support classes like Engineer and Radio Operator. Frags perhaps on my Assaulter classes, but TNT is just too versatile to go without.
Molotovs are very niche. They have their moments, but I don’t see a reason to take them over frags or TNT most of the time.
I use 1 explosive pack + backpack or ammo pouch on everyone except my assault squad.
Assault squad:
First 2 have 3 smokes each for the approach.
1 has 3 det packs for the breach.
1 engineer has 3 molotovs to block off reinforcement routes.
1 assault has 4 medpacks to live the approach and fight on point.
Extras have det packs.
My troopers run with big backpacks (4 medkits) / large grenade pouches (2 handgrenades + 1 detpack) when I unlock them. Before that they have small grenade pouches with 1 handgrenade and 1 detpack.
Grenade pouches: small one - 1 handgrenade, 1 detpack; large one - 1 handgrenade, 2 smokes.
They use big backpacks with 2 medkits and 2 tool sets, so are left with one grenade or detpack. Before unlocking big backpack standard set with small grenade pouch.
For them I use ammo pouches, so they are left with one handgrenade
Large grenade pouch: 1 handgrenade, 2 detpacks
They use small backpacks for medkit + tool set, so are left with 1 detpack
+Gunners
They use large ammo pouches, so are left with one handgrenade or detpack, depending on how many detpacks I already have in that squad.
Same. Because I just HATE those episodes where I find myself under the skirts of an enemy tank, and for whatever reason I have no way of harming it. So I make sure that happens as rarely as possible.
All squad leaders have a grenade pouch, a smoke grenade, a miscellaneous other grenade, and a mine.
I don’t really give classes strict grenades apart from tankers, just whatever that squad needs more of. Preferably if I have a grenade pouch on a soldier they get a frag and a detpack.
Troopers get grenade pouches
Assaulters get grenade pouches with box mags, ammo pouches with drum mags.
Snipers get ammo pouches
Engineers get backpacks
Bombers get backpacks
Gunners get ammo pouches
Tankers get backpacks (mixing medkits and repair kits) and det packs
Tankers also get priority on drum mags over assaulters.
I give assaulters drum mags over tankers because mostly my crew mostly stay with the tank and only fight on foot when out of cannon shells / out of tools to repair.
Yeah, I wanted my Engineer squad to be fully supportive for the team. So with tools I’m able to fix friendly tanks if there is need for that. Works best when I play with friends, but is possible to do with random teammates too.
I prefer to use smokes to attack stationary objects, like cap zones. That’s why my assaulters carry two of them. For tanks I always try to be unseen first and then flank. Throwing a smoke could alert the tank about my presence.
I end up dismounting a lot as tankers and I find drums are a must so while I can live without them on assaulters.
Box mags do have a hair higher maximum ammo (without pouches), so that means I can last longer and use grenade pouches on assaulters. Not to mention you waste ammo more easily with a drum.
Meanwhile a dismounted tanker won’t live long enough for long-term ammo to matter.
i always research backpack never second weapon and always use tnt pack on every soldier
then if i have extra room ill put grenades pouches on them for extra smoke since smoke is better than regular grenades in my opinion they cover your approach so u don’t get shot as much
I give 2 grenade launchers to my trooper II so they have more than enough explosives to deal with infantry. They carry smoke so that other classes which have backpack slots can carry explosives.
Gunners - Large Ammo
Everyone Else - Large Grenade with Explosive Pack, Grenade, Smoke.
I’m not shy about throwing a ton of grenades, then switching guys. Large ammo for the LMG’s because they’ll chew through it pretty fast and we don’t get a lot of them. Everyone carries a rifle…
