As has been already pointed out before, I want to add my 2 cents to the abysmally designed map that is Gorge (Destruction).
In theory, it is a good idea, but it has been SO POORLY excecuted.
The first point, or rather, only point, as only one of the last 50 or so matches i have played on this map have ever taken it.
It is far too easily defendable, to the point where it becomes boring.
The attacking side have to cross an open section of land, creating an excellent killing ground for defenders, combined with the lack of suitable locations for spawn beacons, there is no easy way to avoid this.
Defenders can very easily place beacons in the building behind the objective, making it incredibly easy to respawn and retake the objective with unopposed ease. Usually I place a spawn beacon in the building by the bridge and you can get back into the objective building without even being seen by the attackers.
The fix required here, is that the objective needs to be moved into a building that both forces have to approach from similar ground, or changes have to be made to improve the setting of explosives for the attacking side and reduce the effectiveness of the defusing team
On the rare occasion that the defenders actually get overwhelmed, then the rest of the map is equally poor, with the two objectives seperated by the river, meaning that once spawning in has occured, you are committed to that flank and can’t easily move to support the other, resulting on one flank stalling completely on the attack while the defenders have to sacrifice the other because you can’t easily defend both.
This map needs to be removed and reworked, because at the moment, it is horribly unbalanced in favour of the defending team and simply put, is a waste of time for both attacking and defending players.
