This may be caused by UI being designed around the future system (after the major update).
And from what I remember class grades won’t be a thing.

But to solve the problem you may need to urge devs time and time again or they may forget soon.
Hi! Noted. Right now as a workaround you can go to your soldier reserves, click on “Enlist Soldiers” and click on the gold order soldier you want to know the tier of.

I can ask if dev can swap the position of gold soldier wen you enlist new soldier? Currently they are at left of the screen before soldier of tiers 1 and this can make people missclick, buy them and waste a gold order
Imo gold soldier need be on the rigth of thr screen after tiers 2/3
And it should be possible to test the weapons before buying
