This suggestions was surely made before. This is no big deal, it is not necessary, but golden troop orders are by far the weakest of the gold orders, as of in usefulness and also “specialty”.
Golden weapon orders are on the top, as you often get unique weapons, that are different from the other weapons.
Golden vehicle orders are strong, as otherwise you would have to put a lot of silver orders to unlock the “full potential” of an vehicle! There is a reason why they are the expressivist with 1200 E-gold to buy.
But golden troop orders? At least the three guys I have all do have bad stats. I rarely use them, if at all!
So the easiest solution to make them “more interesting” or better worded, useful, give them the maximum stats they can have at their tier and soldier level, or even a +1 or +2 higher. That would make them more useful, and with even higher base-stats even more unique!
Another idea would be to give them higher “class-skills” for example that an tier 2 trooper has a +10% to sprint speed instead of the +5%.
Agreed, golden troop orders have become almost useless after the academy was removed. Giving them 5 stars and a bunch of retraining points would be great, also assure that they get enough perk points instead of leaving it up to rng.
I posted a question about whether perk points where random or not (deleted it). I did not see this topic when I initially posted but using different words in the forum search led me here. I agree with with the suggestion. Gold soldiers should have slightly better or the best possible perk point distribution.
Oh I think that would be perfect, great suggestion, so to put it together:
Golden order soldiers should have at least the max stats for its class.
On top of that all five stars full with retraining points.
With that you get the “perfect” soldier of it’s class, instead of trying with silver orders, again and again. Also with the retraining points he would be ready to go with some (or all if lucky) perks the player wants him to have.
I like this idea better than an higher “class-skill”.
Still I think that they might get +1 to +2 to all stats to make them “more” unique, as a normal soldier of that class will never reach that high stat points. Also it would offer a different perk line up.
