Gold Weapon Paradox

So I have 6 gold weapon orders now just chillin. I worked hard to grind these gold orders and saved them for something special. But the more I played with my own squad weapons, got gud, and upgraded them, I’ve come to realize that the gold order weapons just aren’t that “great.” A spaded Mp43 or Thompson is simply the far better choice compared to all the Normandy gold weapons.

Anyone else feel the same?

Definitely, I also love the erma amp

Gold order weapons are not necessarily good but somehow they look special in my opinion

Ya, I am sitting on 5 gold order weapons, one Tank gold order, and 4 trooper gold orders because there is nothing enticing that I can see to buy with them, I keep thinking something cool will turn up eventually

I’ve spend 4 Gold weapon orders so far:
2x G43 (8x33, “kurz”)
2xVMP1926

These things are great, at least in my oppinion.

Looking at the actual axis gold weapons, i really don’t know, which one i should buy. So, i consider the G43 kurz and the VMP1926 as great weapons, for the rest i can’t tell, because there is no testing opportunity.

Volkssturm ERMA is good. Like a MP40/I

yeah and all the rest are like i said.

Ah, thx for the advice, i’ve completely forget this one - shame on me!

Aaaaand welcome to Berlin, Erma!

But man is it ugly! Even more so than the Commonwealth sten.

How many drain pipes did they remove from all their infrastructure to craft those?

It’s PERFECT!!!

Idk what people always have against Commonwealth stuff.

The Sten looks pretty dope for me, especially in BFV where the soldiers hold it on the magazine which looks cool while hipfiring (though the High Command adviced not to do it). Volkssturm ERMA always reminds me on Fallout/ some kind of semi-futuristic weapon for some reason.

When it comes to beauty, I simply prefer the commie way: Ugly, but it does its job (maybe thats why I dont find the G1888 beautiful/ elegant)

I don’t like asymmetrical guns, side feed magazines are yucky

Yeah I think the whole point of gold order weapons isn’t to have something OP, but to just have something fun to use. The only gold order weapons I’ve grabbed are the :

Berdan II (Meme cannon, not that good)
MK WhateverTheFuck German Auto Carbine thing (Nothing amazing)
VMP (shreds ass)
Kurz (shreds ass)
EMP 44 (Nothing amazing)
And the last one I got was the new soviet semi auto carbine thing (Nothing amazing, but enjoyable enough that I may consider picking up the other 2 you can get and having them all in the Stalingrad Campaign for my medic squad)

The good thing golden weapons, even “mediocre” ones, is that with them you can potentially start a new campaign from scratch and yet have some mid-level, maxed out gun right off the bat.

I’m right there with you.

I recently sat back and looked at how many of these gold orders I had (11, BTW) and when I saw the announcement about the older gold order weapons going away, I said “to hell with it!” and spent 10 of them.

Once I snag the one from the event, that’ll get me back to 2.

Honestly, all those gold order weapons I bought, I think I’ve used 5 of them a couple of times…the rest are still sitting in the crates, neglected (so far).

Serpiko has a point, though. I have been thinking about using the remaining weapon orders (along with the Soldier and Vehicle gold orders) on a NEW campaign and see what impact that has on my progression.

Oh I love commonwealth things and want more Bren, lee Enfield, CHURCHILL and those in game (Canadian).

But the sten really is just a shower pipe. Not even joking, they used pipes for it. I don’t hate it, but it sure isn’t a beauty :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s nice to know other s have the same quandaries about these choices. I am currently adding Erma EMP with Suppressor to each of the Ju-188 crew, I have absolutely no idea what to use the vehicle orders on and no desire to use the Soldier ones as they don’t seem anything special compared to normal soldiers.

Gold soldier orders may come handy when there is a Tier 3 soldier you may need, whom you get 5 star instead of spending 100+ bronze to upgrade him.

I use them for the vehicles that are many game levels ahead of where I am - eg Pz3J in Tunisia, Bf-110 and T-50 in Moscow, Panther in Berlin.

Transferrability is also fun. I recently moved the eligible axis gold guns from tunisia and normandy to moscow.
