The event Puma, more affectionally called the Puma Pants, is a strange vehicle. It acts as a nerfed counterpart to the M8 Scott, next to no armor, fast, open top, a solid low-velocity cannon that’s good for slinging HE and HEAT.
The main difference between the 2 vehicles is their ammo loadouts.
The Puma Pants has 21 HEAT shells, which are the shells used for infantry but also the shells needed to crack through armored targets like Grants, Shermans, and the occasional Matilda or Churchill. The APCBC shells often are only good if a team decides to spam Stuarts, but even then it’s more beneficial to not switch rounds as to avoid being shot and penned by whatever enemy tank showed up.
If the Puma Pants was given HE shells, then it would have a similar ammo loudout and role as the M8 Scott, while remaining an event vehicle and a casemate. It would also distinguish it a bit from the other short barreled 75 armed German tanks at BR2, which all have more shells than the Puma Pants and therefore have better anti-tank and anti-infantry capabilities.

I think it should have a better HEAT, like the Pz.3N of BR3, so that it is very suitable as a means to deal with KV-1.
Considering its fragility, this is very appropriate.

This thing is in no regard worse than the m8 scott. I absolutely love using this thing, and is extremely potent in br 2. I do feel it would be too much to replace all of it’s apcbc rounds to HE while keeping the same quantity as well. The heat rounds already do extremely well with killing groups of infantry. If you want HE rounds so badly, then they should replace the heat rounds. It shouldn’t get both HE and heat.
This thing is already extremely unique and a standout choice compared to the others. It’s fast, incredibly fast. It’s armor isn’t that bad either. It rarely gets 1 shot, usually requiring 2 or 3.

Kv1 is br3. Br3 equipment is supposed to be better than br2 equipment. Gear shouldn’t be upgraded to be on par with equipment in a higher tier.

Even with better HEAT it wouldn’t be on par with the KV1 or any BR3 tank, still has zero armor and is open topped, casemate and doesn’t have very much ammo. It’s more fitted like a light tank destroyer of sorts, not a heavy tank. Having the better HEAT shells would make it have some use over the short barreled panzer 4s since they have the same shell loadout, but since it has downsides it wouldn’t be too powerful.

It’s definitely not better than the M8 Scott, and though I find the Puma Pants really fun to play it’s just hard to get around the fact that half the shells you get are basically worthless, especially against Soviet tanks.
Speaking of which i didn’t even touch on Soviet tanks, which are where the APCBC rounds are especially worthless. T-28Es require you to hit weakspots just to pen, T-50s you have to shoot the tiny turret cheeks and not get volumetriced, T-34s you to shoot between the tracks and the upper plate side on while also having it be nearly flat at least, and KV-1s are a death sentence.
Giving it useable shells considering how much of a glass cannon you are isn’t asking for much.

You’re entire argument here could be used to give m24 apcbc rounds. I wonder if you’re against that?
I definitely don’t agree with this. I can usually get a reload and travel back to where i was in around 40 seconds to a minute. I’ve never had any issues getting where i want.
You have heat shells to more easily deal with these tanks, and you have apcbc shells to deal with lighter tanks. I don’t find 20 heat rounds to be insufficient, and again, it takes next to nothing to go reload.
Again, you shouldn’t be able to easily deal with higher tier tanks to begin with. I don’t see you asking to give shermans a round to better deal with panthers lol.
I’ve had a change of mind, i would be okay with it IF the fire rate was reduced. I don’t think it’s fair to be able to pump out 2-3 strong heat rounds for every one fired at you
As someone who preferred the 75mm Puma over Sturmpanzer II - I just want to say there really is no reason to buff this tank. Sure AP getting removed and the tank getting HE or more HEATs would be nice, but giving it the better HEAT C rounds?
People forget how fast Puma and that one are on roads, you can spawn them and rush the enemy extremely fast - at the start of the match you can start spamming HEATs at the enemy before they even built their first rallies.
Its a really fun to play glass canon, but for better AT power Germany should finally get STUG III F for BR2.
Well, tell that to almost all Soviet and Allied BR1 tanks when attacking Panzer IV H.
I’d rather see Premium STUG A getting the better HEATS, since unlike event puma it has no MG.
Also Puma having no armor isnt that big of an issue, considering 50mm in BR2 is also just good enough anyways.
AT rifles have it easier, thats all, BR2 Bazooka has 80mm+ pen.

I do think the M24 deserves APCBC. If it was a downgrade enough compared to the Sherman to warrant dropping it to BR2 when they both had AP, then it will remain enough of a downgrade to keep it in BR2 with APCBC.
Considering you only get 20 rounds of HEAT, it’s not always guaranteed you’ll have enough to deal will the tanks that require it when you’re gonna be fighting infantry most of the time.
And I bring up the KV-1 because it’s immune to the APCBC and heavily resistant to the HEAT, from the front and back as well. Shermans don’t need a better round for Panthers and Tigers because you can always shoot the sides or weakspots from the front, you can’t do the same for the KV
