“You can apply the decal to any suitable surface” This here better mean preset places and not up to the player. Would hate for this game to turn into the trash graffiti of WarThunder. It’s absolutely shit and ruins the immersion completely. the scaling and rotating and free to put wherever is a complete disaster. same with decorators and bushes and whatnot. Say a German Tank Pz III J and you “unlock” or whatever a “311” tank number then should only be allowed to pbe placed in a set spot on the turret. same with insignia and slogans. Don’t turn this into the nonsense that is WarThunder.
Well then that is on you, you misunderstood what they were trying to communicate. Sure they could have done a better job, but if you had any misunderstandings, it is up to you to ask.
For the premium squads, they answered that already, you just had to look. The only premiums as of right now will be the flame tanks you get from the pre-order pack.
is there any way to give us a dev blog on anything you promised in august
Oooh, a man of culture with a fashion sense!
Yes, this is the very latest from Berlin, used mostly by nobles socialites of the werhmacht! You have a good eye!
unironically, this looks actually good
I can interpret your question in different ways.
If you mean: can players add decals to a helmet? — no, they can’t.
If you mean: can we, as developers, add decals to helmets? — most of the decals you listed are prohibited by law in some countries. However, we are trying to make the uniforms in the game as believable as possible without offending anyone. This means that on some clothes there will be decals similar to the ones you mentioned, but they will not be exactly the same.
Hammer and sickle offends me, so remove it

Actually, tbf, the concept of micro transactions is more of a recent thing. You used to be able to pay for something and play it without purchasing more minor things, unless it came in an expansion or dlc. WoW, for example, only started introducing them in WotLK if I remember correctly. This is merely a recent trend in MMOs too, maybe sonce the last decade? Like I think the horse armor dlc in Oblivion is considered the first micro transaction.
microtransactions have always been there in the last 15 years, almost all the games had them starting from the dlc to finish the costumes for the characters is recent but before 2007-2009 the video games were niche from this period (ps3/x360) they started to attract more users and development houses introduced microtransactions to make more money
I guess I don’t really consider “DLC” as microtransactions, because generally it refers to a large bundle of items that would warrant a larger purchase. I see microtransactions as normally singular items or small bundles sold at a bloated price that could have been earned in game as content. I understand it being in F2P games, since there needs to be some form of revenue. I just don’t like it being forced into P2P games. CoD being notable of being one of the worst offenders of overpriced garbage, and even Assassin’s Creed, a singleplayer game, is following this trend. If anything I think it would be preferable if they stayed with the other four campaigns (saying this as a Moscow main), instead of new campaigns, if they intend to continue doing P2P campaigns.
all purchases separated from the base game and which the base game does not need to work are microtransaction also the dlc for many (including me), now the topic of the p2p campaign is bullshit the campaign is not p2p because the f2p have more than necessary to beat p2p and they get almost the same things albeit in a slightly more limited form, however this is not a topic to talk about microtransaction or for the 172 time if the campaign is p2w if you want to do it open a separate topic
Then dont look at it.
(sorry late)

This is so cool
most of this is just pure lazy. ALL of the vehicle camos, emblems and options were ripped directly from war thunder, the russian summer camo doesnt even look like its reacting to the lighting correctly ffs.
I was stoked for soldier customization… I’d even be willing to drop $5 for packs (i dont mean packs of 5 of the same item, i mean unlimited uses of many items, like $5 for a pack of 20 unit insignia or $0.99 for bandages) of cool things like unit insignia, emblems or things like patches sewn into worn coats, bandages etc etc.
Instead, what we get is the ability to swap hats and faces with premium currency and premium battle pass rewards.
Darkflow i am BEGGING you to stop monetizing this game, countless studios have gone down this path and it NEVER ends well. WT’s player counts have never been lower, event participation is dragging and above all else, people on average stop grinding before they even get their tiger ii or T54.
This game is already teetering on the edge of the cliff. We as players are begging you not to be another Armored Warfare, Battlefront 2 or Crossout.
This is GREAT news. I waited long for that yet never really thought it to happen
But I sincerely hope for sliders where you just can go from one Uniform piece to the next. Please no „spend 1 Silver for 1 helmet“ where you have to start opening a storage room for all your gear.
Regarding the War Thunder skins. It’s not lazy but effective to use what you already have of resources. It is the same with tanks and planes since the beginning of the game. My only fear is that we will see the most unhistorical, eye cancer causing creations imagineable. If you already found the Bf109 from the news article to be extremely close to kitsch then BEWARE. If War Thunder told me anything then that a huge amount of people have absolutely no taste but just put random symbols or texts on their vehicles in maximum size.
