This coat was removed because it was too much like the Germans appearance. However this point seems null and void considering there are cosmetics which are much more confusing than these ever were:
Also if this logic was applied to all customisation then that’d mean that 2 nations wouldn’t be able to wear majority white in the winter at the same time because they’d look too similar:

Officials should treat all historical elite squads from all countries equally, rather than leaving all game squads without proper attire and disguises.

I remember posting about this myself too back then. Well, since the gray helmets with red stars got moved to free customization, that means that the chauchat squad does not have a single piece of unique cosmetics…

It was removed as it was found out these coats weren’t historical
In that case would the Devs consider giving the chauchat a unique version of the current dark blue greatcoat similar to that worn by tankers?
So the appearance would only be the coat without all the equipment, a bit like how the standard appearance is but with a blue coat.
This but with a dark blue coat instead
