Give select fire rifles semi auto recoil and damage

This is not my idea (I saw it on the Enlisted Reddit). I saw someone has posted a video of the T20 with garand recoil:

•This would make sf rifles have tradeoffs for they’re high hit power.

•Makes sense in real life, intermediate cartridges were dropped because they didn’t need to be that big and had too much recoil (think M14). Their recoil isn’t currently reflected in game.

Sadly, this won’t fix the issue since it actually used to be the case but it only increased the power gap between players, PC players had much easier time controlling recoil and crouching down, leaning to the side to decrease recoil.

There are plenty of ways to work around recoil even now, but the most straight forward is using bipods, though Soviet SF rifles don’t have bipods so that would be another balance issue.

IMO lowering the damage of SF rifles to be on par with MGs would be a far better solution.

Before the merge, this used to be the case with FG-42 and AVS/AVT having quite high recoil. Only the BP T20E1 had low recoil.

Then they introduced the Type Hei auto but forgot to introduce its recoil as well. Thus US players were getting absolutly owned as their M2c could not compete.

So T20 was introduced, with no recoil. And then both soviets and german mains complained so the devs simply negated the recoil of SF rifle.

I think having much higher recoil on SF rifle would make BR5 much more diverse with Assault rifle and MG.

My number one complain about BR5 is that it is just SF rifle spam, there is no incencitive to play anything else…

The original Berlin avt40 was very fun to use until devs decided no-recoil laser beam was the way to go.

Sorry, but no, the weapon would be too uncontrollable to use with a joystick. If mouse and keyboard support is implemented on consoles, I might consider it, but not yet.
