Medics and Guerillas are the only standard classes that I feel are missing integral weapon types. Medics and Guerillas should have semi-auto rifles, and Guerilla should have assault rifles added to their arsenals. I don’t why these weapon types had to be restricted specifically. The Medic can already use assault rifles. I would love to finally give my American Medics M1 Carbines.
On Guerillas, they literally can use high tier drum magazine submachine guns, why can’t they use assault rifles and automatic rifles too. At that same BR both teams are commonly using these high-tier weapons. I don’t know what the problem could possibly be. You already have 9 Riflemen all carrying FG 42s and AVTs! There is no reason why Medic and Guerilla shouldn’t have these weapons.
So give Medic and Guerilla semi-auto rifles, and give Guerilla assault rifles also.
Medics and guerrillas using semi-automatic rifles is fine, but guerrillas using assault rifles would be too unbalanced. Guerrillas are already very powerful with submachine guns, especially given their freedom of movement in restricted areas. Assault rifles are currently exclusive to assault troops, and there’s a limit to their numbers. If guerrillas used assault rifles, wouldn’t that mean a full squad of five assault troops operating in restricted areas? That’s unacceptable; it would severely disrupt the game balance.
No, your thinking is out of touch with reality and is indirectly disrupting the game’s balance. In short, semi-automatic rifles are fine, but assault rifles are absolutely unacceptable. Otherwise, the guerrillas’ operational range should be limited by both time and area.
I don’t understand what the problem is. At that same exact BR Guerillas can already use top tier SMGs, plus every other class having top tier weapons at that point, so what exactly is the problem if Guerillas also get the top tier weapons that they currently are missing. How does Guerilla having an assault rifle or select-fire rifle damage the balance when everyone else has one? Everyone is still constrained by the same BR rules. BR 1 everyone uses bolt-actions and 20 round smgs, BR 5 everyone uses select-fire rifles and assault rifles and 50+ round smgs
SMG and AR are not the same at all, they are designed and work best at different range
SMG are close range combat, we don’t want tryahrds camping in around enemy spawn at distance with Battle Rifles, Assault Rifles etc that is too OP
But that can already happen if a Guerilla picks up those weapons anyway
I just feel they should have those weapons by default. That is the natural state of top tier gameplay it’s not like you have to worry about FG 42 armed Guerillas attacking noobs in BR 1. Guerillas would just be armed like everyone else. We are all working under the same BR conditions at all times
I already dislike guerillas having access to basic bolt actions - in low BR you basically have enemy snipers behind your spawn which can be super unhealthy gameplay.
I think the devs should be a bit more creative to change BR5 SMGs so that they are worth using over assault rifles in close range.
I think if everyone else is carrying them, then Guerillas might as well have them too. You can already basically do this if you just pick up one from your teammates, I just think they might as well have them from the start.
We are all constrained by BRs so the only time you’ll see Guerillas with SF rifles and assault rifles is when everyone else has them as well
Let’s be honest Guerillas can certainly do a lot worse, like picking up their own team’s 100+ MGs, so I don’t think semi-auto, select-fire, and assault rifle are that bad if most infantry are also carrying them
