The chaffee is a very iconic tank both in real life and within the enlisted/warthunder community. It also is a unique tank compared to the other American options. While there’s already a premium version, I think a tech tree variant should be offered. This has similarly been done with the kv2 so there is already precedent in the game.
In order to differentiate these two, I would suggest the option for a unique camo on the premium charge as well as replacing 6 rounds (4 from smoke 2 from at) with apcr. Apcr does even lower damage than solid shot and has bad angle performance, but flat on it would be able to pen 139mm
Wouldny surprise me they want assault rifles at br2 and not the cute 10 round mag

And the Chaffee was used extensively in exports post ww2 and used for many movies as mock ups in the 50s and 60s. It was even upgrade and modernized. And yeah the Chaffee is iconic in war thunder given all the variants of it it has and yes that it’s on all nations and is a damn good tank
That was a bad precident but also not really the same as the premium one got a coax aswell and I believe a hatch so the premium one is still somewhat diffrent. The coax gives you some defence against infantry without wasting your shell on a singular infantry men so it is a huge diffrence still.
Meanwhile what you suggest is just same vehicle with the exact same everything exept for ammo that doesnt matter at all due to BR 2 only beeing able to see BR 3 which doesnt face anything remotely armored so the APCR is entirely useless.
