Give Defenders Points For Staying On Objectives

give players the incentive to stay on point by giving them passive points while sitting on the objectives.

also to completely capture the objectives, the attackers should eliminate all defenders defending the objective.

makes you question what’s the point of defending when majority of the team is not on the point

this could be a good thing as when you drive all the opponents of the point you often need to hold it more

depending on the amount of “passive points” were talking here, this could also improve the matches because in some matches defenders pushes attackers and literally preventing them from flanking or rushing.

of course its not a bad thing but still, can improve the some matches where attackers are “less” strong. thanks to team balances.

been playing this game and kinda stressed because the game keep putting me on defense and 90% of the time and only 10% of my team goes to the point to defend and gets wiped out because were out numbered in the objective

defense been soooo bad lately

Yes to points for being in the objective, but only when there are enemies as well: presence in the objective is not just passive, it’s preventing the objective from being captured.
No to need to kill all enemies to capture an objective, one single enemy camping on a roof must not prevent capture.
One must say that good defence of an objective must not be “everyone in the objective”, because all can be easily be killed by a bomb or howitzer shell. Defence must be in width (at the sides of the objective) and in depth (also in front of the objective). Still, being in the objective is risky (as said before: tanks, planes, end also enemi infantry storming the objective of course) so it’s god if it’s rewarded.
Btw, making a poll with two different proposals and just a simple yes/no response is not good, because I cannot respond in this case (yes to first proposal, no to second).

If it wasnt for this, I woud have voted for yes.

Yeah, this just turns it into a game of hide and seek. Same reason there’s a countdown after you run out of tickets. There’s always some jackanapes who’s been sniping all game and has 9 kills that’s sitting 180m from the point doing the worm and shooting at absolutely nothing and no one.

It’s sort of already required but every last one to start capturing doesn’t work. Some of the zones are already annoying to track down people slowing the capture but imagine one guy in an attic just completely stopping the attacking side.

Imagine paratrooper onto an inaccessible roof counting towards the cap defense and your team not having any paras.

Then report it to the dev to tweak the Capture zone with no accessibility route.

For 3 days of playing ive been put to defense 95% of my game and 90% of The time its a defeat because almost few of the team is not staying on point.

Then that’s a good desperate defense for the defenders, just like the Polish Postal Building Scenario.

Currently the attacker has better gameplay experience against the defenders

And making just one person able to entirely stop the capture of a zone would ruin the gameplay experience for the attackers. Not only do people not play this game for hide and seek this would make it incredibly easy to defend zones. Just on person has to hide long enough for someone to respawn and get to the zone and the advance is stopped in its entirety.

How about giving the defender 20 to 30 seconds grace period.

The scenario is one last defender remains in the point, the capture gauge reach 100%, most to all the attackers are now on the objective, but the objective not captured because there is still a defender on the point,

when that happens a 20 to 30 seconds grace time will be given to the defenders either to recapture the about to lose objective or reinforce the new objectives.

When the timer runs out, the contested but losing objective point gets captured

I think the current setup works fine and is the best compromise. Capture timer only ticks if attackers have more than 50% occupation, and cap speed based on the number of cappers. Attackers have the disadvantage of ticket bleed and not being able to fortify, and the advantage of maintaining their cap progress.

While I do feel like a grace period would be a good idea for the pacing of the games, I feel like there are many control points in the game where the attackers bumrushing is the only way they can capture the point and if the defenders are given the chance to properly solidify their position the attackers are just screwed.

This is why defenders need some help.

Recently the matchmaking been putting me on defense and always ended up in defeat

AKA this wasnt the fault of the mode but your team just beeing dogshit on that BR.

Just passive points / score for beeing on the objective would just enable AFK farming in custom matches.

1 or 2 defeats are fine but 5 or more consecutive defeats is unacceptable.

How about .5 point tics if neutral, 1.5 points when contested, and 2.0 points when actively defending
