that is against infantry only as the m3 75mm can only fire m72 solid shot while german tanks all fire APHE, the reload is due to the m3 75mm shell’s being much shorter in a larger tank.
they said that jumbo is going to stay in the game so the only way that will happen if jumbo gets made into an event squad and i would prefer 105 sherman instead of easy 8.
only panzer 3n has issues with jumbo’s armor but that’s because it’s a short 75mm infantry support gun
but if aiming is too hard than just go flank it since it is just as blind as you are
if it had m61 APHE then this would be true, but they don’t have it instead they have m72 solid shot so if you are getting nuked then they are explicitly aiming for ammo
If Tank X has frontally 1x1mm hitspot where you can pen it and the Y tank is technically one huge hitbox where the X can pen anywhere. Theres a slight balance issue there.
Your “justification” is the flanking which still doesnt solve the massive balance issue between X and Y.
Dont like planes bombing you ? Just dont go to capzone thats where the planes bomb mostly.
Dont like tanks ? Dont leave the spawn.
Dont like something else ? Hey just flank it.
hey don’t like traffic? just ask government to remove them
a wall is blocking your path? just run into a full force
if anything is blocking a way you want to go? just run directly at it without considering any other possibility.
look the only thing jumbo has is the FRONTAL armor since it’s slow with a subpar gun for tank v tank combat…so if you really can’t think and breath then the issue is with you
Jumbos speed is just fine. Politely ask other tanks drive slower, absolutely no issue here.
Bad gun ? Just politely ask people to walk in your crosshairs theres no balance issue here.
please read next time because the 75mm m3 tank cannon only fires solid shot, while german tanks get that special shell, i think it started with A and ends with E. so yes the jumbo’s gun is bad at tank v tank and don’t get me wrong, i don’t want jumbo in the game not really for balancing but because it wasn’t there historical.
you cant really say the jumbo is bad when its literally virtually immune to everything it faces from the front and the 75mm HE is second only to the snub nose 7.5cm in terms of anti infantry, especially with the absolutely asinine lightning fast reload it has and partial immunity to det packs.
never said it was bad though you are the one claiming that m4a2 sherman is the one OP when it doesn’t have armor, it doesn’t have APHE, it doesn’t have a stabilizer which is how this all started
this argument relies entirely on the fact that the jumbo is sub par to another verhicle in an equal respect, which its not.
It has a bad gun for tank combat? Doesn’t matter, this thing will eat shells all day long
The 75 He is inferior to the 7.5cm snubnose? The 75 HE is the second best HE in the game when compared with the reloads of anything that surpasses it
Its slow? The panzer IV J and H are even slower, with slower turrets (historically, the Ausf. J didnt even have powered drives)
Its vulnerable to flanking/infantry? Mate it can frontal pen EVERYTHING it faces, and show me one vehicle that isnt vulnerable to flanking. Plus, if youve ever faced these, you know detpacks are about a 10% chance to destroy them, the other 90% they do nothing, take a track or if youre really lucky you crit the engine. The only thing stronger than a jumbo in this regard is a Panther, which has a much longer reload, doesnt have a .50, and can often be OHKO’d from the side, my puma usually takes at least 4 shots to kill a jumbo from the side, sometimes its taken 8, maybe more if i kept count more often.
Also, i never said the M4A2 was OP, i said explosives in general are OP because theyre just not working correctly, and the 75mm HE that is on both the M4A2 AND M4A3E2 is one of the biggest offenders of this broken aspect.
Also, the M4A2 has 63mm sloped, the Panzer IV has 80mm flat, do the math i beg you, they are literally almost equal in raw effective armor, except the sherman has a higher ricochet chance due to the angle.
Edit: “it doesnt have stabilizer!!!”
You must not be from warthunder because these gyros singlehandedly destroyed the 3.3-4.7 bracket for a LONG time, stabilizers are an absolutely IMMENSE advantage. Besides, historically speaking, only about 2 or 3 units ever actually knew how to/practiced using these, and iirc there was literally one time they actually saw use in combat, and that was against a lightly armored vehicle convoy, again iirc
yeah i’m not…despite having 2k hours into the game and reaching top tier for both air branch and ground branch in america, and reached rank 5 for germany, britian and russia…but how about i end this argument with a proposal, we add track armor for the panzer 4h and turn it into a pseudo heavy tank
add effectively 10mm of raw armor to the last panzer iv, and that magically fixes the fact that the jumbo is the offending party here?
You seem to have a sixth sense about people calling out your abuse of an unbalanced weapon, because you’re in about every thread here defending the jumbo tooth and nail against all logic.
I have over 15k (12k+ are just in realistic GFRB) battles in WT, most of that before the game was extremely dumbed down in 2017, i went from soviet main to germany, grinded the americans at launch, ground out the british, french, japanese and swedish all to tier V, and got to jets in three nations by using simulator battles.
Ive been in WT for so long, i was driving a tiger II when a soviet 122mm could pen my UFP and i had about a 50% chance to ricochet his flat side turret with a long 88, hell i was playing realistic GF when the Tiger II and IS-2 1944 were the last unlocks in the tech trees.
You also deny the panther would be fit for normandy for the exact reasons you argue the jumbo is perfectly fine; the only difference is jumbo has mediocre AT shell but great HE while panther has mediocre HE and great AT, bigger weakspots, and is equal or worse in every other regard.
