I think the current Soviet ZiS and the allied new tank Churchill are both being sidelined.
It’s still because Germany lacks a good tank, so I suggest putting one of the two captured Finnish tanks into the tech tree and the other into the gold tree. This would address the issue of Germany’s BR3 lacking a heavy tank—and by the way, move those two tanks down to BR3.

Just give them the P40. It was a Heavy tank. Put it in TT, and then when Italy gets its own sub TT they can move it over to there.

Thats actually a medium tank, it was only heavy according to Italian standards.
But anyway I don’t think a German heavy tank would change the fact that KV-1 zis-5 and Churchill VII have BR4 armour and BR3 guns so would be very unfair in a BR2-3 match.
Besides Japan’s capability to deal with such tanks should be considered as well.
Sadly no BR2 tank could reliably deal with either KV-1 zis or Churchill VII so unless we get 0/+ up-downtier, it wouldn’t be fair.
I guess the most fair but still realistic solution would be to add 1 or 2 more BRs thus better spreading vehicles according to their power level. Though Im not sure Japan has enough guns and vehicles for that…

Wouldn’t that still make it a heavy tank? Heavy tank was the classification that the Italians gave to it.
that has no place in BR3. it would be OP for most BR2 and BR3 tanks.

I’d rather have something that’s captured as long as it saw service.
I’d rather sacrifice two tanks than create unnecessary power creep and completely render most other tanks obsolete.

The only tank that “could” have that role would be the Tiger 1 and I don’t think you’d want to face one in BR 3 even with its 102mm of armor on the Chassis
It is the only heavy tank that comes close to that BR So Germany doesn’t have a “heavy” for that level.
It would be contained because of that super slow turret speed that with that speed would have to be used How tank destroyers like the M10 have the time to take out an enemy tank and there are other tanks that fulfill that role better
But how is that “designation” supposed to fix a gap in the TT?
If it cant serve the role of a heavy tank it just isnt a heavy tank.
The KT would still be oppressive in hight tier if germany for some godforsaken reason would have classified as a “light tank”. The armor would still be 150mm sloped and thus be a problem.

Just bring the sIG back to BR II and that’ll work. Wheel it’s event, if it’s in your game and you get uptiered, you should be fine.

I wish more players understood that aswell.
Some players really think that “saving” the zis 5 would solve obsolete tanks.
But spoiler alert, you only render half the TT obsolete (both russian and german) for the sake of a singular vehicle.
