**German Wheeled APCs as Future Event Squads**

Since the current German tech tree APC is quite slow and not very enjoyable to drive, I think the Autoprotetto S.37 and SPA AS.37 A.P.37 could be interesting alternatives for future German event squads.

Both are Italian wheeled vehicles that could offer a different gameplay experience from the current half-track.

They just got a event Squad you will have to wait for another one because the last one they gave before this AS 42 was the MG39 one like 2 years ago they are just giving usa 20 event Squads

I went through the event history from the past 3 years and counted the event squads introduced for each faction. Here are the results:

  • USSR: 10 squads
  • USA: 8 squads
  • Germany: 7 squads
  • Japan: 4 squads

As you can see, Japan and Germany have received noticeably fewer event squads, especially Japan. I think both factions deserve more attention when it comes to future event squad rewards.

I support this idea but why the hell event squads?

Sod event squads, we need these in the tech tree.

I have previously argued how Britain and Italy deserve their own TT APCs and in both cases they would offer a wheeled or tracked alternative to the American and German APCs respectively.

Namely a wheeled Italian APC like your suggestion (vs tracked Sdfkz)

And a tracked Universal Carrier [unarmed] (vs wheeled Studebaker truck)

I voted no because I like the idea but it should be in the TT not as an event.

I’ve given up on what’s best and hope for what is just barely acceptable. I can run an 11 slot preset for Italy, with several squads in reserve, but no APC. It is annoying. (I agree that TT would be much better)

Well rn i have 10 event Squads for USA if I count the alt Squad is 11 then 6 Squads that ik that exist charlton, brittish flammers, M1A1 paras, wheelgun paras, vickers paras and the universal carrier. Soo what you putted on usa is wrong there are manny more on the gambling box but because is gone i can’t see the Squads It have inside you could not count the Alt Squad if you want but all the others should be counted

I made a post a while back about an Italian APC, and the Breda 52 is the most feasible option, given that 90% of it is already in War Thunder—it would require minimal work compared to creating a new truck from scratch.

Wow, thanks for compiling the stats.

Looking at it this way, both Germany and Japan have fairly small rosters.

I think Germany’s lineup shouldn’t be this limited. At the very least, they could add equipment from their Axis allies such as Italy, Hungary and Finland.

Japan’s roster is genuinely tiny, and there are historical reasons for that. When you look at history, maps and industrial capacity, Japan directed most of its industry toward aircraft and warships. Very little was left for the army. Besides, most of Japan’s WWII combat took place in Asia against mostly agrarian nations. There was little pressure to develop tanks capable of fighting against Shermans.
Looking ahead, most of Japan’s future additions will likely be police units, auxiliary squads, puppet troops, and many more aircraft.
But honestly, any new German or Japanese units will most likely arrive in events launched together with their opposing factions.

After all, even commemorative events for canceled tank prototype projects only hand out small rewards such as pistols, avatars and decals. DF is really stingy. An event themed around the Ferdinand prototype would probably only give a matching decal, rather than an all-new Ferdinand squad with unique prototype base paint. It would have been a perfect opportunity to add event-limited squads for Germany or Japan, but it seems very unlikely.

Setting aside controversial dates marking the outbreak of wars, they could pick events like Finland’s Continuation War, German paratrooper operations, or Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor to release corresponding special squads.

They could split a month-long marathon event into two separate 15-day phases, releasing the German and Japanese special squads one after another. I think this approach would work really well.
