Just unlocked and am trying to change the load outs, the second weapon slot is unlocked but you can’t place ANY TYPE of weapon in it. Is there a problem?
Nope, that’s just the way it is. The Charlton MG squad for Tunisia Allies is the same way, 2nd weapon slot is open but nothing can be equipped.

I don’t know why some squads have open secondary slots but you cannot use them.
As of now, there’s only ONE type of premium squad that I know of where it’s possible to equip 2 firearms: Tunisia premium motorcycle squad. the 2 “bikers” can equip any duo of smg of the player choice (the engineer has the hammer on the second slot).
I believe the reason is that usually, premium squads are showcasing some unique weapon. when that’s the case you cannot switch it, probably to prevent some exploit, or bugs? The vehicles or motorcycles squads come with no unique weapon of their own.
Premium tank and planes squads might also benefit from this
