As per title, the TTK of German planes in Normandy is too high compared to allies. I 've engaged alot of German planes and they take many more rounds to down than the US planes. I’ve been in numerous situations where I can empty the entire ammo reserves into a BF110 and it hasn’t gone down despite me literally sitting right behind it. We’ve even had a fighter and a bomber both dump their entire MG ammo into a German plane and it keeps flying and bombing. I’ve shot down more German planes by shooting the pilot with the browning!
They might feel like bullet sponges. But infact very easy to shoot down.
I tend to aim for either the tail or the pilot. I dont aim for the engines. about 100 bullets from the mustang can disable their tail so when they go for a dive, they cant pull out. or put them into a spin in the air. I have also manage to pilot snipe them alot. They do tend to take punishment. But its just a matter of where to aim.

yea they should just make plane vs plane in this game just like war thunder realistic battle, i don’t even play war thunder and only watch it through youtube but i could know that it is not the same
All planes are bullet sponges when you’re using anything less than the Bf110’s 30mm. No other air vehicle has serious plane dismantling capability and only do minor damage to modules. Which means everything else basically is shooting darts at each other as far as I can tell, doing basically no damage to fuselage or wings. That includes the Bf109s and P-38. Their cannons don’t do a world of damage either.
The easiest way to down a plane is to put the engine(s) out in my opinion. Do short controlled bursts on the engines until the plane is no longer airworthy and drops like a rock. The flight model in Enlisted is seriously jank and barely functional at times so it’s pretty easy to send someone into the deck by removing most of their engine power.
It’s a serious issue that affects both teams. I’ve emptied 450 rounds of .50 into 110s across both wings and tail and they start smoking but that’s it. I dont know what they did specifically to some planes but it is ridiculous to try to down bombers right now.
In one of the latest patches they buffed all plane health. It’s currently slightly over buffed and all planes suffer (or rather gain) from it. This is purely you personal experience. I often get one shotted by US planes and I often empty my whole mag into one just for it to fly happily away, rearm and shoot me down. And to everyone’s surprise I have experienced the same thing the other way around. I’ve occasionally shot down US planes in one hit and I sometimes survive minutes of fire and still go on. And I fly the P-38 as well, with the same result. Learn to aim better, hope for a plane hp nerf.
If anything, the American planes are bullet sponges – and too maneuverable. The P-38’s, especially, are flying tanks. As an aside, there’s NO reason for a P-38-G to be able to out-menuever a BF-109, but they can do it all day long.
Why?
Who knows? Maybe the developers forgot what historical accuracy means.
