Now that German smgs got downtiered a bit, germany literally has no br5 smgs. Can we either return mp717(r) to the TT, OR add suomi/suomi SJR, OR perhaps if anyone can add any other interesting smg ideas that will be paralel to soviet ppsh and american thompson, albeit i view the first two options as easier ones casue both are present in game and specifically suomi SJR isnt even used anywhere
DF really shot themselves in the foot making the Suomi a Premium, at least when it comes to game balance…
Edit: Yeah, there’s not really much else out there, other than a all-metal version of the Suomi but that one was never given to German troops. There’s also a interesting Swiss design, very similar to the Kiraly, but “being similar to the Kiraly” means it would be BR IV (unless it was made more controlable), it’s also another SMG only used by Finland during the war…
To be honest I don’t think Germany needs a br5 smg, but it’s already to late to have assault rifles be Germany’s specialty because now USA and Russia have better fake weapons.
But if I was to suggest a br5 smg for Germany I’d say it should be the Mp 715r (captured ppd40).

Yes we do. We also need better smgs at BR2 and 3 as they have the worst smgs there and nothing at BR5. DF should stop with their MG obsession and give us better smgs that would be on par with their competition.
MP-41(r) and MP-717(r) sadly are legacy weapons, but in theory we could still get MP-41(r) drum and MP-717(r) box magazine in TT.
mp41(r) is a conversion for ppsh to be able to use 9mm cartridges from mp40, so thats literally not possible. an mp717(r) are also pretty much always shown with drum mags, as those were the mags germans loved, technically ppsh41(stick) captured, could have been a thing, but im asking for a br5 not br3 smg.

mp717(r) is legacy but the thing is, im pretty sure regular m1918 used to be a campaign exclusive for those who played the pacific, but then players asked and it got addded into TT. So frankly, i personally just don’t see a problem with stalingrad weapons making a comeback.
Why would any faction need BR-5 SMGs? BR-5 for assault rifles. It depends, but I am for lowering all BR-5 SMGs on BR-4. Except for models with a 100-round magazine or more.
If you’re worried about how Kiraly will counter PPSh, I wouldn’t mind seeing it to get it’s old stats back.

But I think there are many potential weapons that could take its role in German TT.
Maximum in loot boxes. In general, it would be nice to see all Stalingrad exclusives in loot boxes.
And weapons for gold orders. What difference does it make, they are going to give them out in events anyway. Now all these weapons can be considered event weapons.
Yeah, I don’t have anything against it to return in some limited way. But it definitely shouldn’t be added to TT.
