General nit picks

lighting seems fairly well but while outside in a day map the sky gives the effect I just woke up and I have water in my eyes, this make it hard for me to discern friend or foe thanks to it’s blurry nature.

my AI squad is so brainless I treat them as extra lives or meat shields, after being shot fairly close I proceeded to switch to another member of my squad to try in get back into the fight only finding out that regardless of them practically surrounding me they couldn’t kill the one enemy in direct front who ended up slaughtering the rest of my squad by just rushing in, the fact that he was able to do it so easily is silly and disheartening. I honestly wouldn’t mind having the rest of my squad auto attack the nearest point without my say.

friend markers are great, regardless of how true to real life you want to play, it would just be nice to have the option of making the markers solid so when I run they don’t disappear so I don’t mistake my friends for foes and stop myself to double check.

The map seems unrefined as it shows the extreme out of bounds areas as well, and if it ended up taking a hand held map look that would be nice, a good example of what I mean is from a game called Heroes and Generals.

for AI control and coordination having a mechanic where if you hold the mark key it moves everyone and if you quickly press to move only one person would be useful.

Switching weapons is sometimes frustrating because if you do some actions you might cancel the switch so making switching weapons a sort of toggle where when after pressing the corresponding key regardless if you’re jumping over hurdles you will switch over at the next available moment might reduce some hair pulling and blaming the game for the fact you didn’t switch to your side arm before the enemy killed you.

a nice feature would be to be able scrap entire units or separate them and just have the player need to build that unit back up from troop and weapon orders.

it’d be nice if the game wasn’t split into different theaters but instead could use the same units at any theater possibly for a redeploy/logistical fee instead to keep the idea of more realism. maybe different soldiers from different theaters / areas get special abilities or benefits, I hope for this seeing as currently I just throw away any and all basic soldiers who are extra.

too much foliage, for some maps where explosives constantly go off there is a lot of plants, please tone it down

speaking of plants it seems regardless if I’m hiding in a bush enemy AI spot me even though I’m thoroughly covered, and I means practically drowning, in leaves and branches. what’s up with that?
