General feedback to Enlisted as a VC / MoH / COD2 - MW / RO / H&G vet

Yeah exactly man. At this point they’re charging triple A prices for just testing which is ridiculous. And while I do get that this testing is optional and the campaign will be free eventually. It just seems like a slap in the face to those who already paid for testing access when they bought a Moscow or Normandy pack.

Like come on, $50 on top of the $30 we already paid? That’s just bs. At this point I’d rather the game just be full priced so that we don’t have to deal with any sort of F2P bs.

Oh the original CBT players dont get it for free? thats kinda f ed up.

Man it’s Gaijin, they did it here and they’ll do it again.

Yup we don’t get it for free. Gotta pay up the additional $50 to daddy Gaijin or no access

I thought 50 was fair because it would apply to all close betas in the future. 50 dollars for 1 campaign is bull even by gaijin standards.

Yuuup precisely my man. This is why I and other people are extremely rubbed the wrong way by this. Especially those who already paid for access to testing in the past.

But then you got the Gaijin argument of “well you paid for the premium squad, not access to testing for all campaigns”. Which I just find absurd honestly. Since what I bought the pack for was for the TESTING. Not the shitty wacky “premium” squad. Like a premium squad for $30 or $50?!??! Just wtf

I don’t think it would be half as bad if it was just one squad as optional entry, but I think the are other reasons they have done this not just monetary, I think it might also be due to the volume of feedback they get from the CBTs, so yes they got my money as I’m not poor, but they also gave out free entries too, if it was just paid that would be much more frowned upon…

This is not condoning their decisions, it just might be another reason why they tried to limit testing, but it could backfire and they don’t get enough feedback (unlikely) but we do have a choice and with 2 campaigns unlocked, it’s not like we couldn’t play those campaign unless maxed out already.

Just my opinion, not right not wrong, just my thoughts don’t burn me!

Honestly, I see what you’re saying here. But I don’t think that’s really the reason why they approached it like this. Bc if they really wanted to limit testing, then they wouldn’t be trying to get popular streamers and whatnot into the campaign. Since that’s basically promotion right there which will make others want to join the testing too. Which is behind a $50 paywall. So eh I don’t really see it as them trying to limit testing. Bc if they wanted to do that, they would’ve approached it some other way.

Orrrr, they would’ve given free access to all of their CURRENT “Enlisted_CBT” members rather than opening up access to testing thru yet again, another paywall.

I’m not gonna burn you tho man for your opinion  this is just my opinion as well and I could be wrong as well here. We could both be wrong but hey, that’s alright

Edit: Oh and yeah I saw that they were giving away free keys if you played. But that still doesn’t change the fact that the current CBT players that already paid for access are still being left out. And the chance to win doesn’t seem like a lot either I don’t think. Sooo there’s that as well.

There is nearly no feedback on Berlin cause according to the few players who bought it or recieved it for free encounter masses of bot squads.
The whole “testing” argument is a lie. They dont have enough players to a point where they have to use masses of bot squads AGAIN (like they did with Moscow cause nobody/ not enough people wanted to play the Soviets) which destroys the validity of the experience and the feedback of the few idiots who played Berlin. So why still staying with the CBT if it doesnt give valid feedback due way too low player numbers?
They just wanna earn extra money.

no, you don’t have to pay to test nothing. If you pay now is because you want

and may be in development for 6-12 years, bugs appears when players start playing.

Like in the previous betas…ugh

For like 6 months now and may bugs and issues still exits. Next please.

Alright,

Didn’t expect people going off topic so fast.
I’m not going to reply to every single reaction but:

First of all, no I’m no console player and will never be one when it comes to FPS games. PC master race ;).

Secondly. I might becoming ancient but I go back to times where competitive FPS gaming was at it’s peak; playing for some of the best clans out there and won different prizes. Still active and able to pick up most shooters in an eyewink. Let’s call it nature. Why this is relevant? Just to indicate I don’t need to clock weeks of gaming time just to be able to do a personal Quick 'n Dirty judgement of a FPS game.

As I said, I haven’t gotten in every single detail of this game but those I mentioned stood out the most for me personally. So one may or may not agree but no need to be salty in replies.

That said let’s move on to some of the details that annoyed me (again, personal):

  • The key (re)mapping is cumbersome in this game because there is no need to ask players to set a different key for interacting with buildings, weapons and vehicles all separately. It just takes up menu space. 1 single “use” key should be enough. Same goes for weapon use.

  • As far as I could see there is no option to “toggle” the crouch, prone positions so that when releasing the button it goes back to stance. Yes I know there is the setting for the position switch and hold, but that is not what I meant. Perhaps this clarifies. And for FPS games, such a feature is a basic element.

*Concerning tank gameplay, please let’s not start to talk about realism. As a WW2 enthusiastic I’m pretty well informed about most most stuff. Fact is, this is a game and games are about balance.
Whether that being a game trying to simulate realism or not. Enlisted clearly is not and is more of an Arcadish shooter with higher game pace. I just felt tanks could use a bit more of a punch (the HE rounds have close to no shell impact) and the breaking system doesn’t fit the game/plays smoothly.
Instead, just leaving the throttle could/should make the tank slow down automatically.
Also, it seemed that sometimes the game messes up the steering and throttle/brake buttons after you remapped them?

*The UI, HUD and spawn menu are aesthetical issues I guess. Within FPS games there are some unwritten ‘standards’. Right now I just feel some reorganization / rework is needed to make them more intuitive.

*The maps ain’t bad. In fact I actually like them in general diversity and in terms of atmosphere and interaction with props. Perhaps a little more vertical game play (taller buildings, but that might be due to not having the payed maps unlocked?) but at least more space for flanking maneuvers. Currently it kinda feels like scripted game play with most players going straight forward to objectives like lemmings and being shot like fish in a barrel.
The current map borders could be widened up a bit.

*Bots are no good in any online shooter and to me just indicates the game lacks enough content to retain players or lacks players in general. They are either dumb or OP (I have read the same experience by other players you often get instant killed by head shots across 100 yards behind bushes) and never will they come close to behavior of human players. Perhaps I haven’t discovered it yet but an option to disable bots in the game would be my pick.

Currently to me the game is fun to play for like a few hours per week but I cant really see this game becoming the next all time classic like the CoD/MoH series were. It just doesn’t really bring anything new or outstanding that we haven’t seen before. I’m putting it in the same categories as the RO series. Just not quite it.

But please do not forget to teabag me when you met me in game and killed me. That is the best feature in any FPS game

At some point people should be able to change the setting on their own. This is no work or nuclear sciene.
They made it with the thoughts that most part of the market/ players prefer this setting. If you dont bring up any evidences that most part of the players prefer your style… deal with it and praise the market.

It is possible. You can decide how you will activating crouching by clicking on holding in the settings. Just go to the damn settings already.

Read their description.

There is a game mode called Lone Fighter. Did you even take a look the MM?

Again. Read the game description. The bot mates are one fo their main feature. If you dont like them, then you should start looking for another game or stay with the Lone Fighter mode.

After five hours lol

Next? no…

I think that you don’t know, when you are developing a game, you may fix all bugs, but when you add more content, appears new and old bugs.
Devs are adding a lot of content and fixing bugs (maybe you don’t read the news) so is normal, there are a lot of bugs in a BETA.

if you want a game without bugs, maybe you should wait till some months after realease. And remember, most games still having bugs a lot of months after release (and more if devs still adding content after release)

omg… playing a beta like if it where a full game hahaha. of course there will be bugs, ITS A BETA

We all are aware that this is beta and bugs can be present. Problem is when some bugs are here since CAT and were mentioned many, many times in bug reports on this forum. Yet they are still not fixed.

Aye.

And I ain’t even complaining about specific bugs since I’m well aware the game is in Beta. I’ve tested several FPS games before they launched to the bigger crowd. That fact alone makes me able to judge certain mechanics and features while ignoring the tweaking / bug hunting aspects because bug and Beta go hand in hand.

But the things Enlisted is lacking currently aren’t simply “bugs” or Beta related. It’s core game design that missed out on certain aspects. Some simple mechanics.

Those unfamiliar with core game design (and what actually makes a game successful FPS in the end) are unable to see those cons and/or shield with the " its still Beta argument".

Once a game hits Beta, it won’t go back to Alpha; the phase during which core gameplay elements and look&feel are molded. And something tells me Enlisted is lacking/missing out on some very important aspects that makes a good FPS game.

Anyway, it’s my personal opinion and luckily everybody has it’s own view on this. But for me, the Beta isn’t exciting enough to be triggered to investing money in this game.
Yes, even though I only played 5h’s, that’s enough to get a glance of the basic features, where some already mentioned issues might be solved by digging further in the settings for me it’s enough to conclude it’s a hit or miss.

Surely fun for a casual game now and then but that’s about it for now.

By the way, why is there no editing function on this forums…

There is
2021-04-29 16_58_45-Window
Use that on your previous posts/

Fun fact, that editing button (which I was expecting to find) doesn’t show anywhere or I must be as blind as a bat.

Is it limited to certain ‘ranks’ on this forum (alpha / beta testers?)

Yeah. We have way too much expectations after 6 years development, around one year of betas and alphas.
I dont care about bugs as long as they are not much present or dont kill the experience but since the CBT (and I think since CAT too) climbing (especially ladders) is bugged as hell and their latest fix didnt fixed it, the AI is still broken AF, spawn protection on beacons (okay, this is less a bug than a broken feature), broken tank hitboxes and ammo which again exists since the start of the game…
I dont care about new content. I dont even like the new maps in Moscow despite the weather and OH BOY the new stuff in France is even better consider the Jumbo, the FG and M2 spam, the bombers or the MGs vs. BARs (which are technically not even MGs). But maybe they actually read the complains and remove the Jumbo eventually like they did with the Panzer IIIB (which didnt fought in Moscow) or the broken BA-11…
Oh wait. The Panzer III made it to OBT despite the complains and they reintroduced the same broken BA-11 despite the complains about it during CBT…
But yeah what are we expecting?
Dont know why the games of the AAA-publishers became worsen… definitly NOT cause the costumers have less and less expectations and intelligence…
