A legit question! This is the first point, your side of the approach is way too open. Where do you set a rally that won’t get destroyed after 30 seconds?
The standard spots I build them are the 4 in yellow (sorry - your pic is the best one of Gavutu I can find!)
1/ little island off to the right - good place to make crew served weapons too
2/ next to beached landing craft - make sandbags and tank blocks as protection for this one
3/ Trenches - lay a few mines in the trench as defence
4/ Rocky area on left of map - again sand bags and tank traps are useful
and
5/ Nissan huts on left - not shown in this picture - sandbags and mines useful here
Sure sometimes they get killed fast - so keep making them.
Safe locations are often too far from the cap point to be very useful - close ones are at a higher risk - that’s the formula - you don’t get close rallies that are also totally safe (with a few exceptions).
Also if they are always getting killed fast then there’s a pretty good possibility your team is rubbish!

This is a map where lvt 4 apc can shine. For rallies I usually build it in the trench or the 2 metal barracks
