The whole reason why I’m playing (and enjoying) this event is that I can play G-43 and not get insta nsent to T20 and Hyde fake-hell.
Allowing own sqsuads would just make it Main Matchmaking 2.0, again with T20 and Hyde fake-hell.
One of the things I do like about this event is that the Allied and Axis squads are not all equipped with only SMGs (as that is something one encounters a lot in normal battles). I might be in the minority here but IMHO it would be better if squads in general should only be able to carry “historical” loadouts, i.e. that while players should be able to upgrade/customize things, they should not just be able make all SMG squads. I for one am trying to make my guys carry correct loadouts, as far as it is possible (and when in doubt I carry lower BR gear and bolt action rifles).
@_MaleficaruM → had such battles too! The issue is that if the two bridge points are captured the game ends immediately (this really should be fixed, so the Allies have to hold the points for a while to prevent things ending right away). That means if the Allies rush and drop on the points they take them => battle ends, nobody gets a decent amount of points out of the battle (essentially one should not cap until the end so all players can at least make some points, since capturing fast prevents that for everyone)
And objectives more entertaining than 2 bridges changing hands every couple minutes – maybe arming bombs, blowing the bridges up, or at least capturing one “forever” and then fighting over the next.
Right now these games are either snooze fests where you capture the objectives again and again only for them to be lost
They could make a system that automatically replaces unhistorical guns with default bolties like kar98k and springfield m1903. Same would apply to vehicles
Yes, it’s a reasonable weapon, but it doesn’t negate the structural disadvantage the allies have in needing to paradrop in. The bigger issue is it just takes them too long to get new squads onto the field (unless they want to use spawn beacons and not get any good weapons) and that squad is vulnerable to enemy fire for the 30 seconds or so it takes for the paras to fly in and hit the ground. Then they need to find their weapons. A German squad is ready the second it leaves the spawn beacon.
It’s why such a large percentage of allied victories are blitz victories. Once the paras are coming down piecemeal it becomes a lot harder.
I had a battle today where we (the Allies) actually did not take the objectives (both were held by the Germans at the end) but we managed to decimate the enemy so much that we won regardless. First time I have seen that happening.
I love how at the end of this event match, it said I’ve reached the rank of Colonel, which is not true because the things you do in the event don’t really increase your stats. Which was another complaint I had about the Soviet Japanese event, though it’s not…as worse here as there. Still, most people don’t have time to play regular games outside of the event, meaning they can’t do some of the Battle Pass tasks that require you to rank up. Lame.
Well, better than the previous 2 events. The requirement of rewards is good for players who do not want to keep playing this game until exhausted. Though it can be polished. The current event is like a PUBG game. Allies land, Germans search for allies, both sides run everywhere, get sniped or camped all the time. And the tank is useless under most circumstance. If Allies could have regular team to simulate the ground force in the operation, or have aircraft squads to provide air support and compensate the weakness in firepower, or add bonus for gained scores if a team win a game to encourage players stay active in the game, it would be a better event.
Still, despite many flaws, the event is acceptable and good, but can be better, carry on devs, this event makes me play enlisted again
