Gameplay event: Operation "Fort Eben-Emael" - German Fallschirmjäger a 1940 EVENT/SQUAD

Inspired by this its a simple event concept that follow early war historical accomplishments of the German Fallschirmjäger. This is also the main reward.

Notable change from other historical events is interesting weapons load out of the Belgian forces featured below. A mix of event/BP weapons compromises their loadouts.

The mission involved would be a simple destruction version of the BR5 Ger/Sov map. Due to 1940 timeframe squads involved would be BR1, at most BR2 in power level.

  • Potentially several map versions of destruction mode with German airborne forces on the attack, backed up with regular BR1 armor / infantry.
  • There could be an option for invasion type with Belgian forces attempting counterattack to push the German forces to the bridgehead.

  • German forces have access to light BR1 infantry and armor squads as well as FJ squad armed with Kar98k FJ and MP38 FJ weapons 3/3 each. (which becomes main prize in event). Tank vehicles are Pz2, Pz3E and Ju87B2, Bf109E7
  • Belgian forces include similar selection of light BR1 infantry and vehicles but no Paras. They instead have a engineer squad.

  • Belgian weapons however deviate from usual Allied mix.

MGs are Chauchat (featured in Sov premium squad) BAR FN1930 (Axis/Jap BP weapon).

SMG is MP28 (axis BR1), MP28 (extended mag) from Enlisted founders pack, MAS-38 (axis event)

Rifles include Gewehr 33/40 (stand in for Belgian Mauser Model 1935) and Winchester 1866 (with Winchester M1894 from the previous event as a stand in)

as well as Mauser 1889 (with German BP Gewehr 1888 representing it).

Pistols available are Nagant M1895 and Browning Hi Power.

Belgian vehicles are Allied support. A13 MkII tank and Hurricane Mk2B fighter and French Potez 633 bomber.

Main Rewards:

German FJ Squad Sturmabteilung GRANIT equipped with MP38 SMG.

  1. Notably the squad allows the choice of changing the primary weapon to ANY SMG and/or BOLT ACTION/ BATTLE RIFLE. Hence it is customizable as the current soviet variants, but unable to equip assault rifles (this allows for late BR focus on FG42 rifles).

  2. As well their special item slot is locked to TNT charges only, but features 5x use just like the Saboteur squad.

Squad uniform is green or grey M40 Knochensacks.

edited, that was indeed my meaning.

Yeah this comes from the mission itself where the taskforce had to blast their way through multiple bunker complexes with large charges. I think this little add on helps keep them interesting :slight_smile:

Thats what the mission entailed.

Due to mission constraints 5k would be the score needed (since it would get old)

Ofc we can add more assets. Vehicles here would can easily be Belgian and constitute a further reward/ complexity.

I was instead going for a low drama event that usses as many ingame assets as possible. Hence the armor and air support are British/French and currently found ingame.

New equipment would be ported Chauchat as an Allied weapon, new Belgian helmet/uniform model, and the point of the event which is the flexible Fj squad :slight_smile:

tldr; event is meant to be as easy to code as possible, and require very few new models :wink:

I feel like a Fallschirmjager flamer squad should feature in this battle.

Pretty sure it was one of the primary elements in this fortress clearing fight

By the video recount above it was only used in 1 major bunker clearing. The vast majority were done with large experimental HEAT charges placed on bunker fortifications. Since technically closest analogue to these are TNT charges (placed and remotely detonated) I feel a large amount of these serves as a reasonable analogue. Alternatively you can design a HEAT mine that works as a TNT charge (requires placing), but functionally it will work the same.

Lastly the Italian para2 squad already comes with a flamer, and I believe it simply takes away from their ‘uniqueness’ :slight_smile:

Im talking about the fixed squad selection for the event. Not the reward.

Unless I misunderstood, the Italian paras arent an available spawn choice (and shouldnt be)

Ah gotcha.

For the event the only reason Ive excluded it was since its a BR1/2 event. Only a few BR3 weapons are there (FN 1930/MG34) and majority are quite low power level.

In the squad selection German forces get a well kitted out Assaulter squad + Paras, Extra tank vs Belgian Engineers + Mortar team, which I thought is already asymmetrical enough :slight_smile: As well, Axis SMGs are generally BR above the Belgians. Its meant to represent slightly more offensive axis force posture vs reactive dig in with more artillery Belgian army.
