Since Stalingrad load the game randomly switches the teams. I choose to plat as Allies and the game starts as Axis. Has happened 8 times in a row.

I can confirm that. So far I only once joined other team than I was going to play, at first wasn’t sure if I switched it myself somehow, but after seeing this I can say it was the game doing that for me.
And to assure others, I have option “join any team” unchecked since my first game about 11 months ago.
With so many new bugs right now I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of them.
EDIT: after all game switched on “join any team” itself
after the bug fix today, my join any team button was switched on when a launched the game

Yep, after all it was the same for me, because I didn’t switch it on myself I didn’t notice that, only after second time in row I was put on the other side.

Every time you switch nations or campaigns, the game switches you on “join any side” automatically now.
It’s horrible and needs removing, as all it will result in is more people leaving matches.
You mean just switching between campaigns or actually playing at least one battle in other campaign, because for me just switching between campaigns without playing a battle does nothing.
For me it seemed to switch. May just have been caused by playing the event though, idk.
more than likely you played the event, which does flag you as “join any team”
