Gaijin needs BR level parameters to stick by

So, the Dev’s seem to have struck a nerve with the new Japanese SMG buffing. I’ve said this in other posts that I am perfectly fine with that, they probably needed it as do many other guns in this game, however, to overly buff the shit out of a BR1 weapon to BR3 stats and then leave it in BR1 was ridiculous IMOP.

From the beginning, Gaijin should have set up strict parameters for each BR level, which they probably did to some (small) extent “on paper”. BR one IMOP, SMG’s should shoot 400 to 650 with 600 or 650 being fully maxed, which “WAS” where the majority of their BR1 SMG’s were. However this was violated right away by giving the Soviets the PPD-34 with a maxed ROF of 920 I believe. This should not have been a level one SMG IMOP with that ROF, the PPSH 2 should have been the Soviets level one SMG with it’s max firing rate of 600. In the genius that is Gaijin, that SMG does exist in the game, however they chose to make it a BR2 Chick premium squad SMG instead of their base level one Soviet SMG which would have made every level one SMG somewhat equal in ROF.
PPSH 2

So now, here we are with the Dev’s opening up pandora’s box in level one. The Soviets should have never had a level one SMG that shot over 900 to begin with, and the Japanese shouldn’t have a level one SMG that shoots over 800, so what next? You gotta buff the Germans and Allies now, right? M38A now from it’s current 690 ROF to 800-900 and given a 30 round magazine? Allied M50’s with it’s current 570 ROF buffed to a ROF of 850 and sporting new 30 round magazines? (which BTW existed). Where does it stop? :no_good_man:

This is the can of worms the Dev’s created, because they have moved the BR 1 statistical parameters drastically upward. So, either buff the M38A and the M50 or Sten, or drop the other level one SMG’s to a more BR appropriate ROF.

suomi kp31 with flamethrower to br2 to compete with others → mkb to BR3 to compete with others → soviets get AK-47 to br 2 to compete with kp31 → Murricans get F16 → Japan gets nuclear bomb to compete with F16

Dunno ? Seems perfectly reasonable and most importantly must be so much of fking fun for anyone whos new to the game with starter weapons.

Gaijin just needs to have some internal game parameters and try and live by them. Should be a simple thing, but for some reason, nothing with this gaming company is simple.

The Sten used to be one of the strongest BR I SMGs - now it’s woefully underpowered. Euthy has confirmed that the Type 100 at least will be uptiered.

But what about the S1-100? Will it be the sole BR I SMG for the Japanese, or will another one be introduced to replace it? Seems a shame to have had 2 BR I SMGs, then to go back to 1.

I think they should have left the level one Type 100 alone and buffed the level three one. I don’t mind the S1-100, however I rarely play level one much with any faction anyway.

I would love to see the Sten and the M50 both get reworked, either small buffs and left at level one, or new versions and the new versions added to other BR levels. If the Type 100 gets moved up, then I would still love an M50 SMG with a 30 round magazine and a high rate of fire, since, I believe some were made this way. The Sten could also use a buff in damage, and maybe a Sten with a high ROF in some BR level should be added.

The Sten should get 5.7 damage like the rest of the British lineup. I honestly have no idea why it has lower damage - like many people have pointed out, they shoot the same bullet at the same velocity.

Damage should not change. That applies to a lot of weapons.
