On Normandy the FW-190, the equivalent to the P-47 (you know the plane that decimates your whole team single handed) is absolutely unplayable.
The Machine Cannon auto fires until empty from 110 Bullets.
The Flight model is absolutely insane sh#t to control.
The Plane accelerates slower than a Henschel Hs-123 on Moscow.
And the higher speed it can perform - you never see that in game.
Fix it. For gods sake. The bugs are reported since May, I am getting sick of this inability.
Thatās why I donāt ever play this plane, on paper it look like pretty strong but in game itās a flying garbage, same problem for the FW on Tunisia.
There is a new FW on Berlin too and unfortunately Iām sure itās the same shit (I donāt play Berlin for the moment so couldnāt try)
The fw-190 is actually a fighter, not an attack aircraft, so it is not a direct answer to the P47. However, even considering that it is a fighter, it is absolutely terrible. The flight model and cannon are buggy, Iāve written about it several times.
The key point is that it is bad at maneuvers and not suitable for Enlisted air combat. It usually comes down to dogfight, where the fw loses to all planes except the A-20.
The Fw-190 D-12 with bombs would look like a better answer to the P-47, but would still lose.
I donāt know if there are any similar planes to the P-47 from the Axis, I havenāt found any. I hope to see a lighter attack aircraft from the Axis than the Ju-88 in the future.
The Fw-190 A8 would be a good fighter if it got a flight model fixed. Iāve been waiting for that for months now.
There are ground attackers of the FW-190 though, designated as Jagdbomber: Fw 190F-8/U1
The F-8/U1 carried an ETC 503 bomb rack under each wing, allowing it to carry two SC250 250kg bombs. It could also carry a drop tank under the fuselage, or in theory a SC500 500kg bomb, for a total payload of 1,000kg. However this came at the cost of performance. The F-8/U1 replaced the Fw 190A-8 in service.
While interestingly, I dont find any actual source that in Combat missions the P-47 actually carried anything more than either 2x250 lbs Bombs or 10x 5 inch rockets.
There many sites claiming it could carry up to 2500lbs on stuff, but two sources I found from actual data from 1944 and 1945 says either bombs or rockets but not both.
I would be happy to be able to install a lot of small missiles instead of 2 big ones. According to the article FW-190 A-8 could carry 12 such Pb missiles. I like the idea of low-powered but numerous missiles, they would be easier to fire on infantry, like the HVAR or M8

To summarize:
The Fw-190 D-12 would look good as a mobile attack aircraft with a kit: 500kg bomb + 4x50kg. It would lose in bomb load to the A-20 and Ju-88, but it would be more agile and better armed.
Fw-190 A8 or F8 with Pb2 missiles (I wish we had the ability to change the outboard armament) Another fw-190 fighter is not needed.
Unfortunately I have no ideas for a new Axis fighter. They had the Me 262, but Iām not sure how jet aviation would fit into the game. The Bf-109 G-6\10 is already in the game, and the Fw-190 all have maneuverability issues. If leaving the Fw out, Iād rather its logic be in āless maneuverable but with a larger bomb load.ā That is, more in the direction of a ground-attacker rather than a fighter.
Plenty of good fighters in 44 around, Dornier Do 335. But quite honestly various variations of FW 190 are fine I would say. Just need a good equivalent of a ground attacker, maybe the FW 190 with Panzerblitz?
Or maybe go with twin engines, BF-110 still many variations can be added there or the Henschel HS-129 B-3 with a 7,5cm Cannon or Me 410 B-2/U4 with 5cm Cannon.
