As tensions rose throughout Europe, many nations were racing to develop the weaponry they believed would be needed in the event of a major conflict. Many new technologies were researched and produced in the run-up to, and during, the First World War, and perhaps one of the most sought-after was a functional self-loading rifle.
The French tried out numerous different prototypes and designs, and ended up creating the Fusil Automatique Modèle 1917, also known as the RSC M1917. This was a powerful semi-automatic rifle, and despite the fact that it only saw action in the later years of the war, almost 100,000 units were produced by 1918. Improving on previous similar weapons, the RSC M1917 was officially adopted by the French military in 1916, two years into the conflict.Fusil Automatique Modele 1917 (Model 1917 RSC) Semi-Automatic / Bolt-Action Service RifleFusil Automatique Modèle 1917 - Wikipedia. The main issue being that Japan already has two five shot Semi Auto rifles art br2. i do not feel adding a third to be too much of an issue. One was made by the french why would the japanese have them. Because France ruled both parts of asia and africa. Japan supplied second line soldiers with this gun in africa can we consider asia to be any less important. I think this would make a great event weapon or squad or battle pass.
Getting more french weapons can never be a bad thing. Japan is always in need of more weapons even if that becomes increasingly difficult as the br climbs. It is an original weaponry that can be played with br 1 2 3 weapons making it widely usable. I would love to see perhaps even an indochina unit with these guns or some other second line locally recruited soldier serving the rising sun.
not me i love the allies but there not hurting for weapons while japan is, and i dont want to see four or five versions of each of the existing weapons. there are plenty of french weapons to go around
for the us uk germany and japan
i would love t6o see the us with a [
Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918 submachine gun
but even more id like to see some ‘original’ japanese weapons
Why do the Japanese always want to possess all the world’s weapons? The reason is always “captured” . enough, if RSC add into game it should be given to a Alies French event suqard
Why do the Japanese always want to possess all the world’s weapons?
because they have almost nothing
and if anyone should have it but japan it would be germany not the allies
It’s at the bottom as the selbstlade-gewehr 310f if anyone needs weapons less then the Germans i cant think if one
The us uk allies would have less access to the gun then Japan or germany
Yes my idea is convoluted there are clear records of Germany using them but my idea is hit nearly as bad as that of giving it to the us uk allies, I am willing to be proven wrong with any evidence of french forces under the us uk allies using them, I would be happy to snap away a weapon from the germans
Japnese now have 2 semiauto Rifle in TT Trees, one of it is the most powerfull Semi Rifle in BR II, because is load by magzine. I dont understand What are you talking about.
Stop adding any more captured weapons to Japan, as these weapons should rightfully belong to other factions.
germany
did use the weapon
selbstlade-gewehr 310f is the german desoignation for fusil m1917 used by germany volkstrum
japan
could have captured the weapon from french sources
french forces used the fusil m197 in the rift forces and gave them to local raised forces (africas)
france fought japan in indochina
us/uk
french forces fought with them almost exclusively using american weapons only the ussr would have less of a chance of having this weapon
frenmch forces fought german for us uk
they used almost exclusive us kits save small things lie french uniforms and helmets
so if youre saying it should be a greman weapon ok, if youre saying it should be a us/uk faction weapon no,
most to least likley to have fusil m1917
Germany
Japan
US/UK
USSR
The Allies might have more weapons (especially because the Soviets are Allies) but the French are barely even present. They get 3 Weapons, one of which was BP, one available in Silver Boxes and one not available anymore at all. The French need more representation, as does the rest of the Commonwealth, but the French were a major allied nation and they get essentially nothing.
Japan shouldn’t get a single one in my opinion, they fought some French Colonial Forces, could’ve theoretically captured weapons and might have used some but compared to that series of events a wooden tank was present in every battle of the war. The Japanese simply didn’t have the time to invent stuff and that should’ve been a sign to not put them into the higher BRs but that’s not going to change anymore.
They’re just the Allies. Western Allies if that but they’re not the US UK allies. They’re the Allied Nation, including France which should get French weapons if anyone gets them.
i will call them the western allies when russia is called the eastern allies
of the 1.5 million men that fought for the allies on the italian front 115 000 were french
great powers
us - uk -ussr-
france was only called a great power to claim more of berlin for the anti communist blcok
major powers
minor power
i can use words to calling them a major power is semantical word play does not elevate them from a second rate allied power, just stops them from being third rate
the reason for the uk us allies thing is i refuse to reduce the us uk commonwealth nations to the ‘allies’ while the ussr get to remain that a distinct entity. the socialist dictatorship of Stalin, the red hegemony, the oppressed people of Eurasia,
because calling it russia or united soviet socialist republics is as accurate as calling the other allied faction United States of America
the french deserve a degree of atenion less than canada or australia who landed at day, produced/design the weapons they used,
France should be treated with the same amount of respect as any government in exile such as
Belgium, Czech, Greece, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Norway, Yugoslavia
so fine
great power or Gold level nations
Axis------------------------------------------Allies
Germany/Italy or the axis Western Allies US/UK/Commonwealth
Japan---------------------------------------Eastern Allies
Great or silver power
------------------------------------------------Finland, France, Greece, Ect
Romania
Minor or Bronze
------------------------------------------------Norway, Belgium
It’s 2025 already, and we’ve seen way too many captured weapons. If they keep handing them out to Japan and Germany, it’s bound to annoy people. No one likes copy-paste reskins. I think we should evaluate weapons based on criteria like: Was this weapon actually used consistently after capture—like, for several years? Look into the duration of use. Then, also consider the scale of capture: Was it seized in large enough batches to equip a regiment or a battalion? If it meets both conditions, then it deserves a place in the tech tree. If it only meets one, then it should be a premium or event weapon instead. The priority should be: tech tree first, then premium, and finally event weapons. Arranging it this way would make a lot more sense.
i couldn’t agree more i never said tech tree, and japan has a tiny arsenal and needs all the weapons it can get but not the six versions of each semi auto that some people are trying to add.
This seems like an absurd stretch to justify giving Japan a 5 round semi auto rifle, something they already have. Do you have proof that the Japanese used this rifle?
No because I wanted to add something new that they could have had and
Not a br1 bolt action rifle
And not a variant of a Existing rifle that varies only in barrel length
I wanted to have fun with it a weapon they could have had
And if someone can suggest it for the western allies , well why not a faction that might actual have had it
Might actually have had it? Through French Colonial Troops that might have them and could have fought the Japanese who could in theory have captured weapons and might have been able to use them? That’s enough hoops to make chainmail
They fought the French colonial troops sep 22 to 26 1940
They occupied the country, I thought I was bad with giving credit
4 years later liberation by the allied forces
So the real issue is not if they could have gotten french weapon from indo China but what french weapons
