3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (which would be a 9 man rifleman squad)
This regiment the most decorated unit during World War 2 while fighting in North Africa and being apart of Operation Torch.

Berthier with a detachable Chautchat magazine that was made during WW1, where it was used a self defense rifle for balloon scouts and a survival rifle for fixed wing pilots during ww2.
It would have the generally same stats as the M16 carbine but would be heavier due to the account of the magazine, while only having the ammo count of 40, it would have one magazine in the gun and one in reserve 1/1 type of magazine configuration.

Wish we had a tech tree French squad or the option to change our nationality to French…
I’m all for this. Just will it be a BR I or BR II squad? And will it just be a plain 9 man infantry squad, or would it be slightly different to the normal one?

Just as long as the magazine does not work as ,well, as the WW1 lmg did lol but great idea
You can use your flask to clean the Mag and it works for like 2 minutes or until you lie down again.
But aside from that it’s a nice Idea, especially if it’s more than just 9 riflemen

For cosmetics, these would be very easy to do because of the French guy from that April Fools event.
As for Berthier, Im not sure as Moroccans already have it, even though this one is bit different

See the only thing here is, its still a BA, so I assume it would be functionally the same as the trench mag options for the Kar98/Gewhre98. I cant remember if those are still BR1 or BR2.
Honestly Im fine with it either way, Id rather BR1 to make a more focused french lineup for BR1.
Functionally the rifle is the same, just with an extended magazine, which still has the trade off of taking a long time to reload.
Those french guys were french resistance they would have very different type of clothing, compared to the branch of the french armed forces and again are Legionnaires so they’re not any type of french soldier or resistance fighter.
Also unlike the Berthier carbine the Moroccans got this can’t take a bayonet like the M16 Berthier could, also they have different type of sights compared too the M16 Berthier. So unlike the dual sight post for the front sight post, the berthier I’m talking about is the Mle 1892 carbine which have a more traditional sight.
The G98 trench is br2 and was always that so this gun is definitely gonna be br2.

I know about the clothing, I only said existing models can be easily retextured for it to happen.
Weapon is okay, I checked and there isnt much to pick from really
