Flamethtowers are NOT op

We have another braindead bickering like “nerf x buff y”
I dont know any of those guys realy used flamethrower troops for long time.
Flamethrowers have high visibility and you cant run fast.
In open areas you will be primary target for snipers.
And with that huge tank you carry, most of the enemy players will focus their aim at you FIRST.
And its very situational weapon.
Really efficient against enemies clustered in narrow spaces
Only way to succesful attack at open is ambush from flanks or using smoke.
Also you have to think twice before you move everytime if you want good results and be aware where enemy is before assaulting.
This is why i give lots of smoke grenades to my soldiers in flamer squads.
Still, about %50 of my flaming attempts fail.
I rarely use them in tunisia and moscow.
More than half of my kills with flame squads come from rifles not even from flames. Since they are not usable in every situation.
This is why modern militaries abondoned flamethrowers in 1970’s at the very latest.
They are impractical
Most of the people annyoyed by getting killed by flames are missing some simple fact; those succesful flaming attacks are probably %20-10 succesfull ratio. 1 flamer managed to wide out your squad but other 4 before him killed before he reached the objective.

I can relate to your opinion. One big :+1:.

Good reasoning.
Smoke grenades is a must for me when i’m using the flamethrower squad.

At least 6 of them
Every flamer has one
Another two infantry has 2
Since frag grenades are not covering enough large areas.
I hope they will buff smoke grenades

and you can build rally and skip any of these :)))
(and it’s not good)

Either use a weapon with a bayonet charge, get perk to increase run speed, or just place a rally to cut down on the issue. You can move better than you should be able to already with a flamethrower.

Right… any situation where you are within 40m of an enemy. Even if they are hiding behind a wall.

That’s an understatement, but that is true.

BS. I see flamethrowers go right down the middle without smoke cover all the time. Unless you are miraculously able to get mines or trenched wire out ahead of time, you usually aren’t going to stop them when they rush with at least 2 flamethrower squads.

Again, BS. You can rush in, flames spewing everywhere and you only have to aim in the enemy’s general direction to light them ablaze.

I don’t often say this, but that seems like a skill issue. Especially in Tunisia and Moscow. I rarely have ever seen flamethrowers NOT get at least 4-6 kills minimum.

I’m really having trouble understanding how you are having these kinds of issues.
Truly, I’m curious. When I first used flamethrowers I was getting 20-30 kills/ game with them easy, and that’s only with one or two squad spawns. Now I usually rack up 40-50 IF I use them, which isn’t often as I focus more on supporting my team rather than only getting kills.

One dude with granade laucher and

and flamethrower that can be seen from space (when he is flaming) is dead

The only thing that may make flamethrowers OP is that flames go through walls and that bots just stand inside flames until they die.

I don’t know. Switch to knife, chug a flask and they move pretty fast. Pull out the flamethrower when you’re about to enter building or bunker and then deal out death. There are maps on Tunisia where I can wipe 10 - 20 opponents off the first point and occasionally cap it alone with a hard charge from a flametrooper squad. I think they just have a time and a place. If used correctly they are lethal.

Fire the flames into the smoke grenade. Quite obvious that people will hide in or behind it.
