Im just curiouse, i feel that flamethrowers are… ehhh, useless, i took and bought some gold, just to ace my flamethrower dude for Germany, i also got the US. flametrhower guy, but no matter how i play them, i just feel they do nothing, and even when i burn some enemies down, they usually kill me too,
i feel the range is horrible short, it barely does dammage, the few times i mannage to kill someone, i’ve mannaged to sneek behind them and gotten like 2-3 of them before they saw me and shot me,
They are really situational - short range, take a second to start dealing damage, so pretty much the only place to use them is inside buildings.
They are quite good for “area denial” tho - they can block a doorway for however long the ground burns after you target it - that is possibly their main use in Enlisted - which is completely a-historical of course.
Flamethrower range was something that was brought up many times before, yet with no result. The range is indeed pitiful, such as its damage.
Some may say flamethrower is situational, but even in perfect situation it is useless because enemies that are on fire can still shoot which means that you are pretty much dead at the moment you start using it.
my experience also, i had a 30 flamethrower kill battle task recently and that was an absolute chore to do because of the abysmal range and nonsignificant damage
i mean seriously, you cant fire a gun when you’re literally covered in burning gasoline IRL but apparantly thats just fine in enlisted
However, they do have the benefit of being able to light tanks on fire as well. So in some cases they can pull double duty as an anti-tank weapon, if you can get close enough.
