I have a question that’s been giving me a headache. I’m wondering—and I only just found this out—why the Soviet Union has flamethrowers at BR 1 while the Germans don’t!?! The Germans don’t get flamethrowers until BR 2. Why? Now, I don’t want to make accusations, but it really makes you think, considering how much time the developers put into making this game—recreating details like weapon types, vehicle classes, and even the uniforms so precisely. I know what’s coming next—I’ve heard the argument so many times: “The Germans didn’t have this,” “The Germans didn’t have that.” But I am certain the Germans did have flamethrowers during the war. So I still ask myself: why isn’t that the case here? Russia has flamethrowers at BR 1, but Germany doesn’t. It’s yet another imbalance that is simply unfair. It’s as simple as that. And the developers just can’t seem to manage addressing this little problem to level the playing field for both sides. I might make a video at the end of the year covering all these imbalances and the unfair advantages other nations have over Germany. A buddy of mine, who played this game for a long time, once told me that the development process is deliberately designed to keep the Germans at a slight disadvantage—whether it’s tank speed or the weapons the teams can bring to the fight. I’m convinced that Russia and America simply get better, far more efficient weapons than Germany as a matter of principle. Anyway, that was what was on my mind. I’ll check in every now and then if I notice anything new. It’s all pretty interesting—and funny. Oh, and regarding what my buddy said about the Germans always being at a disadvantage—like I said, that didn’t come from me. Yeah. That came from him. Personally, of course, I consider it nothing more than a rumor. P.S. In the game, too, German troops are the best in the world—just as they were back then!
WDYM?
Flamethrowers are BR 3 and 4
Germany (italy) has event paratroopers with flames in BR 2
Germany premium flametank BR 1
USSR premium flametank BR 1
The german literally have flame tank at br1 same as soviet. Just because you didnt buy it and thus didnt have it doesnt mean it didnt exist.
Beside did you actually do br1 or br2 in the first place? With no screenshot or anything it more likely that you accidentally use a br2 gun and got match with br3 USSR.
You have to add a poll like this

Well, I mean, it might actually work.
Flamethrowers already existed back in World War I.
This weapon saw very early combat service. We could’ve added World War‑era flamethrowers as secondary equipment starting from BR 1, so every battle rating would have its corresponding flamethrower variant.
Flamethrowers have lost their former effectiveness after all the nerfs.
Maybe it’s time for some fresh new ideas
Those pre nerf flame throwers were some absolute fun! Wow you could wipe out more than one squad with those things. Especially on the Normandy bunkers. You can also game the BR’s with low level Para loadouts and engineer squads.
All factions have a flame tank at BR1…except japan, they don’t have any. Only the Italian Paratrooper have it at BR2…then it’s 3 and up.
Totally needs a rework. I mean, It should work like spraying a liquid! A fire burning liquid. Instead of the “cooking torch” we have. But I think perhaps that’s too demanding to implement in a videogame, specially in Enlisted, given the limitations of the engine. It needs to spread and stick to walls like spraying a hose, be able to shoot over fences in an arch. The last additon of being able to burn trees is a nice touch, but I think there’s still room for improvement.
By the way, does anyone know of a FPS game that has actually mastered the physics of a flamethrower and the way it behaves in real life? Or any video game for that matter. It can be an old game or a new game. I’m really curious to know how far technology has gone. See if it’s only Gaijin and their potato game engine underneath with shiny reflections built on top.
It’s too bad the Dev’s ruined the flame throwers when they neutered them. They are a joke now. You shouldn’t have a dude that is being incinerated with 1,800 F flames shooting back at you. That’s the temperature dead bodies are cremated at, but in Enlisted, they simple shoot you and pat their arm a couple times to put the fire out. ![]()
That said, the in‑game flamethrower effects are pretty ridiculous. The jet it shoots behaves like floating gas that never falls onto the ground, almost like burning natural gas.
WW2 flamethrowers never used such clean‑burning fuel. War Thunder handles flamethrower visuals far better. In our game, the flame dissipates before it even touches the ground. Meanwhile in WT, streams go far away, leaving burning gelled fuel sticking to surfaces. It is way more convincing.
On top of that, flamethrowers also get a movement‑slow debuff when firing, putting them in a really rough spot right now.
