Flamethrowers are Weak

It deals very little damage, it has like a range of 15m (?), the hitbox of the cone seems to be smaller than it looks, and it doesn’t appear to be able to hit multiple enemies. The only use I’ve found for this is to create fireballs in doorways. Otherwise I would rather hold out a pistol than the flamethrower to defend myself.

Not asking for it to be as good as a SMG, but it is really underwhelming, especially since the range is unrealistically small.

18 meters for Flamethrower 1 troops. I think its 32 meters for Flamethrower 2. But theyre useful when on an onjective for spraying at the base of all entrances so no one can enter. This lets you capture/hold a point with no contest. They’re situational but very useful in those situations.

its very powerful.

the issues is that you are rarely in situations that it can be useful. but when you are its extremely useful

In fact they just nerfed its ammo in half

Are you OK? Flamethrowers can clear out entire enemy charges if used correctly. Now that they had their range buffed they do even better. The weapon is situational AF

Funny past week we had a discussion that someone quit the game because they where too op.

I did not like the m1 much, short range etc but the m2 is situational really really strong and a lot of fun to use. Have build a assault squad around that one and it is in my standard set up.

Ah, I see. I play almost entirely on Moscow. I assume the ones there have around the same range as the tier 1 flames of Normandy. They took a lot of grinding to get but they are still very disappointing. 32 meters sounds quite good though, and it would be nice if the Moscow flamethrowers got a few meters more range.

Bro they just barely buffed it cmon man

Moscow do have same range as T1 Normandy - but you’ll sometimes see a skilled player using them really well denying access - point B in the manor is a classic where they can be sprayed just outside the doors to block it off.

they are not a “general purpose” weapon, and shouldn’t be buffed in order to be one - they have specific uses - and if you recognize those then they are useful. and if you don’t then that’s a L2P issue

Just because a ‘skilled player’ can use it well occasionally doesn’t mean that a buff is not necessary. Perhaps I’m just used to the OP throwers of RS2, but it’s unrealistic and quite pathetic that the flamethrowers are basically glorified molotovs.

20 meters on the Flammen 35, M1 and ROKS-2. Or so the patch notes said

Not sure on the new ones.

Nah - it’s quite unrealistic that people won’t bother to learn how to use them properly and then complain about them.

i feel like flamers are unitily, not main weapons

They are really useful against tanks, plus setting a tank on fire makes it a much easier target for planes and other inf.

You dont balance a game cathering to the average player. You balance a game to the higest skilled players so they dont break the game and it stays fun for the average player.

I am not implying anything about your skill level at all. I have no idea about it and therefore would never dare to comment.

You want a weapon like a flamethrower to be just below average so that people that like it run around with it doing awesome stuff they learned with it. If you over tune it everyone will use it and we will be playing in hell, literally.

To me the weapon now feels like I imagine how it should feel.

By top do you mean first cuz I do that almost every game but you don’t see me complaining about the game or weapons that don’t need to be changed no offense btw but

But do you know how to use it effectively in real life it was a case by case scenario like area denial or bunker/cave clearing

Not by my definition you don’t.

Whether or not you complain doesn’t concern me. I’m just making it clear to those who complain about ‘complainers’ that I am no green thumb.
