Flakvierling Camping

I noticed that on some small conquest maps players tend to just put down a Flakvierling at the edge of their spawn so they can shoot directly into the cap zone while not giving the chance to others to actually kill them, stacking up kills on mass, protected by spawn protection.

I don’t know what map it is but it was particularly on B-point in the map that has a village with a forest next to it with a lake next to the forest. If you put a Flakvierling at the coast line you can directly shoot into B-point while being in spawn protection.

There’s 4 ways to deal with flak, easy to hard:
Bring a tank and shoot it (one shots AA)
Bring an anti-tank rifle and shoot it (one shots AA)
Bring an explosive pack and throw it at it (one shots AA)
Snipe the guy operating the AA (head sticks out right in the middle if he is looking at you)

It’s not that AA is OP, it’s that nobody tries to do anything about AA and AI doesnt seem to care enough to try to deal with them

Flakvierling should be removed from engineer class and put only as fixed spawn AA to be used only against aircraft and spawncampers. Not to mention that Russians should get quad maxims instead

i would like to agree… but disagree.

the AA system it’s always tricky. if you give them to the engineers, they can put those everywhere, and most likely, they will…

on the other hand, i played battlefield v, and had an AA system at spawn.
did it worked?
absolutly not.

and it’s simple to figure out why;
there’s always a guy sitting on the AA gun for the entire match, just to kill airplanes. and sometimes, not even being able to do that.

  • does the AA should be at spawn?

no.
for a few reasons,

  1. Position:
you are not gonna hit anyone once the pilots figure out where you are

  2. the second reason it’s kinda caused also by the first reason, if the pilot knoes where the AA will be, they will have more chances to kill the AA it self because the AA doesn’t have protections, and since the pilot knoes where you are, he can easly out manover the AA and kill it. also, the AA operator is sitting ducks for the whole time.

  3. last but not least, the gunner it self.
if he is not capable, or he just stays on the AA for the whole time, he will become a problem for the entire team. not helping doing tasks and leave his squads behind. lacking of manpower for that team in the game for one side during defences, or assaults.

in conclusion, it’s best if the engineers have the ability to build AA positions. maybe to “fix” the issue, and balance the whole thing, i think that the time required should be increased. when removing and placing it.

and not let the engy being able to build AA at spawn.

if the AA is in a fixed location, it will get bombed by AA at the start of the match and it wouldnt respawn, unlike the plane.

The problem is not the Flakvierling being too strong. The problem is the Flak Vierling being too easy to just spam. You shouldn’t be able to build unlimited Flakvierlings. Give the Engineer a limited number per match so it is a strong weapon that has to be used carefully and not just be spammed to camp one location the entire time.

They can only build 2 at the same time. If one is destroyed, it first has to be deconstructed before its slot comes free. Destructing it takes a while and so does the construction. It really can’t just be spammed by a single player. If you give a single player enough time to construct a whole spawn camp base, you basically deserve to get camped imo.

just my 2 cents

in battlefield v it does eventually respawn after a while… but in the same location.
