What are you talking about? Do you really think a submachine gun with a 71-round drum magazine should reload at the same speed as one with a 35-round magazine?
The reload speed of the new Mondragón is simply unbalanced and poorly designed. We should definitely suggest adjusting it.
Only Allied players are against this gameplay experience.
If SKS-31 (5 round semi) can have 4 seconds reload, I have no clue why this weapon shouldn’t as well.

Let’s first increase the power and reload speed of the German Tier 3 weapon, the G-41 semi-automatic rifle. Otherwise, in the current situation, directly nerfing an event reward weapon would be a game-breaking move, since Allied weapons have a reload speed of 3.4 seconds. Why is the G-41’s reload speed so incredibly slow, and why is its power so weak? We never object to any weapon stat balancing, but before nerfing an event weapon, we should first check if there are any unfair aspects to the weapon tech tree!
Well, then does it generally make sense to compare BR2 to BR3 in this example? I used to pick Armaguerra for my non assaulters in BR3, because it reloads faster than G41 and both dont kill in one shot vs armor, so for me reload speed is very important.
In this very specific context it does.
While the SKS rifle is loaded using a single stripper clip, the Mondragon is loaded using two.
Logically, reloading with two stripper clip should take a longer time. Plus you always have the ability to actually reduce the reload time by loading only 50% of the ammunition.
Since to this day nobody cared about SKS to have reload of 4 secs (which is ultimately obscene for weapon that’s loaded by single stripper clip), I have no clue why it’s so problematic for Mondragon.
Yes, the weapon will not be the meta BR3 rifle the German mains has wished for. But that’s not really a relevant argument. On contrary, I am happy for devs to be adding content that’s not just pure powercreep.

I have to agree, the G41 is a poor example of a BR III. It’s underpowered, so if the new event was on par it would be bad.
3.5 second seems like it’s decent enough for it especially since the G41 needs a reload buff right alongside the event gun.

Well, a gun that is comparable to something that no one uses has no point in being added in the first place.
Also a BR2 semi auto would still be a semi auto in BR2 in the end - its actually the same problem with SKS, Fedorov rifle is in my book not worse than G41, so there is no point in using it because there simply are better alternatives.
I know you hate it when people play the meta all the time, but there really isnt any logical reason why this shouldn’t be the case.
If something is underperforming we should talk about it.
They weren’t worried; they were just selfish. If the Axis powers’ Tier 3 weapons improved, they wouldn’t be able to bully newcomers below Tier 3 matchmaking weight anymore. There seemed to be something wrong with them psychologically.
