Hi firing has come to mean simple firing without aiming down the sites or scope of a gun. In old westerns I put meant quickly drawing from achip holster and shooting. The stinger was a hip fired weapon that is shot at waist level hip fired. A true hip fired guy would be a better choice than a prone requirement for high capacity machine guns. It would slow movement and turning to a crawl and make aiming harder. It also make it hard to reload without being able to see as well and having the gun at arms length. Imagine the mini gun from predator in enlisted. So yes better than prone but no where as game breaking as a shoulder fired god gun.
