“All starter packs, as well as Battle of Stalingrad: Full access and Pacific War: Special Landing Forces packs will be discontinued.”
“But keep in mind that you have to research all of this content before the major update drops. After that, you will have to unlock squads and weapons under the new progression system on the same terms as all other players, as keeping old bonuses is technically impossible after campaigns merge.”
Wow! So I gave you my money to receive these squads with certain functions to help reduce “the grind.” Now, all of those functions are going away—but you get to keep my money.
Solution: You don’t get any more of my money! Keeping old bonuses is NOT technically impossible, you just chose to make it that way.
We made a business transaction in which I agreed to give you a certain amount of money in return for specific squads with specific functions. It’s like buying a car, and one day the person who sold you that car decides to remove a function of the car—such as the engine—which makes the car completely useless. Why would I ever want to do business with this dealer again when they went back on their word and basically stole money from me?
I’ll still play, but my wallet is now permanently closed until I get a 50% refund for all of these squads.
Have a nice day!
ps AND You’re still selling them? Wow! Says a lot!
You only buy the bonus for one campaign, so it cannot work when the tech tree arrive because the experience required for the unlock will be different than the current one.
The better solution for this will be compensate you some gold for this thing.
If a person want to take advantage of the campaign merge, he can buy the pack right away and unlock many German and Soviet stuff quickly so he can have them unlocked on the tech tree once it release.
This is a poor analogy, something closer would be like this:
You buy the rights to use a car on a specific racetrack that comes with a special guaranteed starting position at the front of the pack. You can’t use the car on the street or on another track, because it’s not your car you just bought the rights to use it and you have to follow the track rules.
Then they expand the number of tracks you can use the car on, but it looses the special starting position. You can still use the car on the allowed tracks, and you still can’t take it home with you because you never truly owned it in the first place.
Do you expect it to work past the end of the games life? Past the life of the sun? What is the definition they are using for “forever?” What is your expectation of “forever?”
The Stalingrad campaign is the framework from which this bundle exists. The bundle will last “forever.” Forever is the lifetime of the Stalingrad campaign. Darkflow is ending all the campaigns and starting a new combined progression system. The Stalingrad campaign is ending. “Forever” ends when the Stalingrad campaign ends.
You still have plenty of time. The last update was only 10 days ago, I think you still have at least 2 months until next update which is enough to max both faction.
I don’t know if people realise now, that now, as foif today, we can purchase them separately at higher cost. So that statement isn’t far from the current truth.
maybe i just read to much into things, but when DEv say in that news thread, Very soon, i am thinking, that with end of sales, it might happen sooner?, idk
Ever heard of Soon ™? Very soon means nothing. Also, the last update was 10 days ago, if they were almost ready with the new update, why they don’t release the last update earlier?
They also delay the dev blog which is said to be released on the end of April, they postpone it to next week. It means that there is many things that are still undecided, so you really think the new update will release very soon?
No, it’s not a poor analogy. He have a lot of reason. You buy a product offered and with certain characteristics and that is what you get, if they later remove or change those characteristics it is plain and simple a scam. That’s it, you don’t have to think much. They will have to somehow compensate for this unilateral change in the product.
Overlander, nobody has any idea what you’re talking about. Renting bumper cars on the weekend so you can take them home and polish them with wax, but since you don’t own them you can’t get reimbursed for the wax… blah blah blah… What the hell are you talking about?
cannot work? there are soooo many solutions. Like implementing the bounses to the first half or 1/3 of the tech tree where players can get 4x xp speed up and all other convinences and call them “starter pack”. Its not impossible, its just DF whats to take player’s money. typical slav
