I am new to this game how do i select my fighter squad right before battle when it is darkened out and a line through my red circle.so i have to always select other squads right before battle.is there a limit on how many plane go into each battle.

There are 2 slots. Fighter and attacker. Some figters have weapons that can function as a close air support but that does not mean they are attacker planes.

You cannot spawn in an aircraft immediately, there is a 60 second limit. After that ends, there is a limit per team of one attacker and one fighter. If the slots are taken you have to wait for a plane to die.
