for me the fg42 II is better In 2 aspect you can have it on all troops (and they are extremely efficient with it) and the high damage/rof.
But not a lot of ammunition.
However since the mp43 is so inaccurate, I like to keep fg42II as well in Berlin, to counter ppsh41/Fedorov/ar44 spammers. Seriously when meeting those I feel no remorse spamming fg42II. If there’s none… I use my Volks Lebel squad!

fg 42 II is better. but its boring only using fg 42 II’s, so i run mp 43 squads and sniper StG squads aswell. its not like mp 43 is that much worse either, its still a really good gun imo. so the overall decrease in combat effectiveness from using those squads is pretty negligible really. (ammo capacity is also really nice to have after using only fg 42 II’s for a long time)

Sniper stg is… good like Sniper mkb in Moscow. I got used to it a lot being one of the few viable options in Moscow.
And it’s terrifying in Berlin. I don’t understand ppl who say the scope is a bad thing.

i have no idea if this is true or not, but it feels like there is more zoom on the StG (and possibly also less base dispersion?). i find it alot more usefull at long range, while the acog mkb is a beast at mid range. the sniper StG just feels more fit for actually sniping imo (note that my way of “sniping” would make the average sniper main puke), which makes it more unique and fun to use

I feel that too. It also has a bit less rate of fire, but it’s just perfect for longer range salvoes.
There’s also the fact it’s the real deal. The stg44, the firearm I awaited for months. Which makes me think… yes, @38883009 I use fg42II a bit more now, because the mp43 is a big deception to me. I waited for the stg44 (which should frankly have been Fedorov counter, as Fedorov is still much better). I’ll probably stop using fg42II as much when the stg44 is finally here for assaulters, as it should be. It’s iconic, the last defenders of Berlin should have such a weapon. (Already got things covered for my Volks)

The “you can have it on every soldier” argument makes no sence to me on end campaign levels since you can roll 3 mp43 squads over and over till the end of time and disregard death count for an aggressive play style.
Fg42II imo just works on both eng squads since infinit ammo is a thing with ammo crates.
Besides that, yeah fg42 II is an amazing gun, highly overated, but I would take a mp43 squad any day of the weak over It.
With the mp43 I tend to push more with same results but less worry about ammo count per mag or overall.
With the fg I tend to play more slowly even tho i m still pushing like a retard on steroids.
I still see people complaining about dispersion on both fg and mp43, I m yet to have an issue like the M1 garand dispersion on any one of them. They both are precise enough full auto, easy to control and both are must haves, even tho i still belive fg42 is overated and there’s not enough credit for how good one can be with mp43.s over it.

across my whole normany german side that is level 37
i only have 2 FG 42s and one STG issued and all are in the same squad
I think fedorov is a lot harder to use than Mp43.
I’m in the same boat as you. 3 MP43/1 Squads on Normandy. I play super aggresive, super high kill count, death count doesn’t matter to me. If i had to choose between both, it’s not even a clear contest. FG42 is ok but it’s not -amazing-.
