Few thoughts on bipods

  • It’s quite hard to mount, sometimes I have to reposition myself to do it at all. There are also situations when I can mount, but window of opportunity is so small that it requires almost as much attention as aiming.
It should be easier to do, even if it means that soldier has to be moved a bit while mounting.
  • Sometimes my fire angle is very poor (about 30* horizontal). I suspect it’s because the gun is mounted too far forward from the soldier.
Vertical angles aren’t great either. I would like to be able to aim down more, soldier could bend over railings or do something similar.
  • Angles are inconsistent. Sometimes I can turn left more than I can turn right, it happens also on the roads and other flatish surfaces.

Don’t get me wrong, I like bipods but they are a bit unpolished right now.

Suggestions for future:
I would like to see adjustable height for bipods. It’s historical and gun few cm higher can be difference between life and death. Even only “high” and “low” settings would be enough.
Maybe also option to fold bipod so mounting on the parapet of the trench won’t make your head stick out too much.
