what are your thoughts on the F2P experience in Enlisted?
Its ok
The biggest problem is the 3 inf+ 1 vehicle squad limit(if i count at least have 4 inf. Squads)
The grind does get kinda boring but the game itself is fun so i dont really feel it
It hurts really, really hard in the beginning, you need to know what you’re signing up for when starting a new campaign with pea and stick shooters
Normal. Overpriced prems don’t make weak players imbalanced. I’m playing real F2P and feel norm. Yeap, some premium guns are better then regular ones, but not critical. If prices will be optimal - I’ll buy some interesting stuff, just for nerding. But, as it now - I prefer to buy some interesting militaria for my WW1-WW2-Early cold war collection.
As I started with no premium account, I rushed the semi auto weapon to have a chance of survival.
After lvl 15 it’s become very long to gain a lvl. I used 1,5 month of premium.
At the end i spend hours in this game to reach max level with only 15-20 euro, which is a nice hour played/euro ratio.
I got really far in without premium but figured since I am going to be playing this game a long time I might as well get my bang for my buck. I got to level 20 or so on allies Normandy before I decided to buy a year of premium while on sale.
This was before some of the progression changes but overall i never felt I couldnt progress but you definitely had to play your best to get what you needed
I played almost everyday since open beta without premium time, the grind rarely bothers me, what does bother me thou is the premium squads price but at least they have sales/giveaways/free stuff events otherwise I’d be very pissy pissed.
As a longterm Warthunder player (around 1k hours by now, initially started as it was in beta), I honestly hope Gaijin sticks to the same concept. During my WT Time I didn’t use ANY premium stuff for 90% of it and even if the difference is notable between preem and non-preem, it’s far from P2W.
Having that said, I can’t really say about Enlisted yet as some of the preem-stuff seems quite a bit off in terms of balancing, then again it’s pretty fresh and especially preem-balancing is something that takes a lot of time with the playerbase.
Right now, after 50 hours of Enlisted, I don’t think that I’ll drop any money soon, as the grind is rough but also fun, so meh … maybe later with my 3. or 4. campaign
Are you a F2P player? Played against you last night on Omer. GG.
Yes, basically I’m a F2P player, occasionally I buy a 1-2 week premium account, usually for big updates
id say this is a well-balanced game overall, but it needs a bit of work in the details.
my biggest problem with the game is that certain actions are not rewarded/well enough (eg. building rally points, etc), and less so the auto-spam
The biggest issue are very limited slots. 3 inf + 1 vehicle is way too low and either forces you to go with all round squads or pray that the map would be suitable for your pick. It also severely limits your vehicle capabilities, your best bet is often the best tank you have unlocked but sometimes attacker or bomber is more useful. Generally this is the biggest flaw in F2P - P2W approach of the game.
yeah the lack of “unlockable” infantry and vehicle slots is very close to being p2w, and the grind is taking for ever, and is also extremely painful if you plan to play on all the campaigns…
I think an overall global exp boost should be added for every campaign that you’ve managed to max out. Lets say 20% per campaign or something, or even 10% would help.
I find the F2P experience to be quite fine. The grind is real tho. I’ve managed to complete (1 faction each) all other campaigns with F2P account except for the Moscow campaign. Lvl 20 on it now. I suggest focusing on one campaign at a time and it will be tolerable considering the lack of orders.
