Overall, the new Operation "Market Garden” is a step forward compared to fairfight and gun game events. It has an interesting premise, asymmetrical balance, and a fitting historical background. It’s clear that the devs put more thought into the event, which is a very commendable thing amid all the recent community backlash. However, the actual experience is not that optimal, especially for the U.S side. Some may argue that randoms just can’t cooperate or use paratroopers properly, resulting in boring duck hunting games for the Axis, and it is very possible to make the event mode more enjoyable with some minor tweaks.
I think the fundamental issue is that most ppl don’t like playing with pre-made, stock lineups in a competitive environment. Whether it is fairfight, gun game, or Market Garden, the excitement for new events quickly wears off after a few games and the only thing that remains is farming the other side with subpar pre-made lineups. I think a good event makes players play for fun than play for points, and I can only think of space Nazi and mech events as such.
From a different point of view, Operation "Market Garden” actually sets a good foundation for PvE events with historical settings and gameplay elements. Just imagine defending against AI paratroopers and reinforcements with limited resources and fortifications or a future spec-op coop PvE mission in Tunisia. We all know balance is not DF’s strong suit, so why not focus on the coop teamplay instead? The zombie event is the most successful event so far for a reason, and I think it is a recipe for success to combine the merits of zombie mode and Market Garden to create future historical PvE events that are coop and objective-driven. Hell, it would be even easier to make a fitting event bp. Not to mention that DF can also make use of AM’s dev experience to create a better PvE mode.
What are your thoughts? Personally, I hope Operation "Market Garden” is a sign that the devs are willing to make new game modes. I think we are at a point where simply adding new guns and vehicles is not enough.
@MajorMcDonalds @Ungorisz
Hire modders, pay them $500 (in gold and premiums) to make new map with new features and you will have a much better event than this lazy rehashed crap that modders could make within 30min.
My review of the event and the
lack of system stability after the update?

I like the event its very action packed and it feels like what being in the middle of an airborne invasion should be like.
Having specific squads setup semi-realistic is great. This event really captures the essence of frantic battle with airborne troops dropping from the sky at random places. This is the only Normandy map which is actually good in my opinion and its used well.
Having the all of the planes in the air and even AI planes zooming around so people can hop in anti air guns and shoot is also great and works and makes it feel “historically accurate”.
It’s a MUCH better event then the Russia vs Japan event where the pre-made squads were planned badly. Also I am having fun from the start of this event, whereas the last April fools gun game event I hated it at the beginning and then I ended up liking it a little at the end when we were also getting free loot boxes from playing it.
I think if someone who liked WW2 FPS was playing Enlisted for the first time and they played the Market Garden event they would think the game is really cool. Its a good showcase of what the game can do if they focus on one battle/scenario like the airborne deployment.
Enlisted is the sandbox that the Battlefield series was supposed to be.
pretty much my opinion on the event. If it could be made by 1 hungover dude in an afternoon, it’s really not that great of an event, it could’ve been so much better…
Yep - which will only make the hate stronger when reality kicks in!!
This.
This is so Spot on!
I did like this event and and how it was designed.
The disappointment was the last reward squad beind made of super weak stats soldiers.
Like 10* 10* 16* what the royal fuck of a joke…
It not even average guys, why?
What do you mean ?
These are 4-star stats, meaning that a 5-star, their stats would be 16* 16* 22*.
Which is more than enough to get the most important perks such as vitality.
You are right
Didn’t realize they only had 4 stars.
In which case will be 16 16 22 and that’s just fine.
One good addition to my favourite tier !!
