Or maybe even stationary bots to actually man those 88mm flak guns, when the enemy approaches, they can switch to weapons as well. Just another suggestion.
Bot-manned heavy weapons are something I advocated for in War Thunder but not in Enlisted.
The only thing they’ll ever accomplish is the occasional bullshit trickshot but never contribute in any meaningful way otherwise.
the smg is better for large groups the shot gun is a poor excuse
sure, but for 1v1 the shotgun wins, and you have the weapon swapping perk to swap to an SMG to deal with the rest of the group. and the new semi shotgun might be good sauce too.
Doesnt matter then, just add them for the immersion. Something is still better than nothing.
I suggest that adding a shotgun apparently used mainly by stuka pilots in Nth Africa (I know nothing about it - just from discussion here) adds very little to immersion!
Really, these forums draw a lot of inspiration from Gaijin’s routine of “immersion and realism when it suits us, balance and gameplay when it doesn’t”
Immersion for the sake of immersion stops holding water once you’ve forgone it for the sake of gameplay in the past.
I just started playing a couple of days ago and just played on the US campaign today, this is what i think so far.
Good:
Gun play is nice, i can see enemies pretty well compared to how it is for me in games like Squad.
I like being able to upgrade my squads with their abilities/gear
The assault game mode? (the one with one OBJ at a time is really fun)
Ive seen a couple videos saying that its hard to be good against people that buy the SMG packs but i havent noticed it.
Bad:
Its too easy to take out MG’s i think you should only be able to take them out with explosives. I just use my sniper and take out every MG i see and i feel like it makes it a lot harder for the defenders.
Building stuff is wonky i think if they had a menu like squad and you used the hammer to build it would be better
I wish they would add more options for the AI, simple attack move there cover me would be great
add a way to stick explosive packs to tanks
let engineer repair their stuff instead of having to unbuild it then rebuild it
The perks don’t seem to feel like they have any affect other than the ammo increase one
AI isnt too bright and gets stucks too often.
Wait, is Assault mode coming back?
One thing I have noticed, perhaps this is an error on the part of the developers? For Normandy Campaign Level 4 it states we can unlock an attack fighter and puts Bf 110 G2. Bf 110 is a twin-engined fighter-bomber and not the single engined Bf 109 G2 as shown in background picture. Can anyone verify this please?
It,s me? Or the crossplay is activated on XSX?
It is, it was in the patch notes.
I can’t believe it… But this is forever? Or a test?a don,t want to play against pc. This can’t be happening…
How can I desactivated this horrible thing?
That is how it was before and there is a good reason why it was changed. Play invasion games against actual competent players and you’ll know.
What I like: Boy oh boy - it’s lovely to look at.
What I don’t like: Feels extremely glitchy - i’m getting shot behind objects, constantly getting kicked off of stationary machine guns for no apparent reason, and guys, there is no reason on earth to make a capture point 200 meters away - - that’s not fun in any way whatsoever to run with these diabetic out-of-shape characters we’re given. no sir.
What’s not easy to understand: the physics feel a little floaty - and waaaaaay too much fog/haze.
Meanwhile - please don’t get bought by EA Games and ruin this game - it’s so fun. THe last Normandy felt way better than this version as far as play style. Feels like someone poured melted cheese all over this and called it an upgrade - it’s not.
I played Normandy for about 20 mins… it was terrible. I used to play the last versions of Normandy and LOVED it, yet this has changed for the worse.
-Firstly, the feel of this mode is different, feels arcade-like and character movement feels too exaggerated if that makes sense… like the physics are not the same as Moscow.
-MG nests kick you out and on top of the bags as well as the annoying clothing or whatever it is in your face while trying to use the MG.
-Axis rifle action is clunky as heck, and the sounds for the Axis rifles seem off. I play axis in the Moscow maps at level 19 and these guns are different sounding as well as behaving. I understand the progression impacts this but wow these things are pretty different.
-Im getting one shot killed by lots of AI through dense foliage that is impossible to see through.
-The gun turret on the first axis light tank is super sensitive and seems too fast to turn.
-the distance to the waypoints from spawn are quite a ways and a jog-fest… not fun.
bullet impact deformation and overheating was the primary reason a gun ever went out of service IRL - not explosives.
…said EA Games for everything they ever touched and completely destroyed. No FKNG thanks.
lol Bytor, so TRUE
What I like:
- addition of reward pistol for Germany ( 'ery nice model)
- AI soldiers seems to be more capable
- You are making pretty good game
What I don’t like:
- Bunch of italian firearms in normandy for some reasons instead of french firearms like MAS 38 that were used by german peace keeping forces in France.
- Beretta M1918 which is WW 1 era submachine gun. Just to have it in WW 2 scenario is pure nonsence
- British weapons for US units and lack of british units. Just add british units with unlocks for british firearms.
- Lots of new SMGs have much lesser rate of fire then in real life for example MP 34(ö) and M3
- Sdkfz 234/2 “Puma” is to be honest much stronger then M5a1 stuart. It would be much more balanced if M5 stuart would be replaced by M8 Greyhound (just to have two wheel boys) or Sdkfz 234/2 Puma would be replaced by PzKpfw. II Ausf. L “Luchs” or PzKpfw. II Ausf. H
- No replacement for MG 42 as MG nest in Battle of Moscow so far.
- 50mm He rounds seems to be less effective then grenades. (just my opinion)
- Speed of SMG rounds seems to be slower then it should be. (the speed seems to be around 40m/s and seeing bullets travel in buildings is so comical to me, because it just feels like you could pick flying bullets out of thin air)
What is not easy to understand:
- Choosing of WW 1 era guns to fill the weapon gaps. (Ross rifle is actually ok)
- Prioritizing Italian firearms to fill weapon gaps instead of captured french firearms.
- Filling US unlocks with british firearms instead of US firearms. You could fill allies with British and Canadian units with their firearms instead of giving them to US units.
- If you want to test british and italian firearms just make test event.
