Preatty much.
I have no idea what they want to test that way. Unless this squad is much different than previous but I don’t think so.

Overall fantastic game, and new campaign is great.

Well at least non-paying players “can” bring out 3 SMG squads now… once they completed the entire campaign/game :rofl:

Honestly the devs should realise that once people are done “progressing” through this game, they will stop playing for the most part. As the game lacks any high-skill mechanics that you can improve by practicing, there is no incentive to keep playing other than getting that next shiny thing :confused:
And at the same time, they are actively frustrating the players by making the progression way too slow, and way too powerful.

Ikr, but I somehow fail on finding that funny.
I will provide more detailed feedback later, I really hate to say it in advance, but it will be at least from partially negative.
So far this is becoming an Infantry Thunder that just like its bigger brother is built on frustration through balance problems.

The new campaign is great, but it just gets dragged down immensely by the gigantic balance issues, and the progression system.

Petition to change the name into progression suffer system?

Italy didn’t fight in D-Day as far as i know, after the 1943 surrender of the royal Italian army, the Italian socialist republic was pretty much confined to rear echelon fighting.

(I can’t play game currently because of potato computer so I can talk only about things in menu)

I like:

  • soldiers have scars on their faces, that’s nice detail
  • progresion for normandy is here (but…)

I don’t like:

  • double SMG squad seems to be insane idea, I have no clue why would you do this

It’s hard to understand:

  • why there are double squads? Especially 2nd trooper squad is strange as in Moscow most people abandoned it as fast as it was possible. I have no idea if they are different from original squads and I won’t unlock them before OBT for sure so please enlighten me.
  • why US SMGs have more dmg than german ones. I understand this in case of M3 because it has low rof, but why M2 has 6.8 dmg with 420-460 rof and MP34(o) has 5.7 dmg and 360-400 rof?
  • why progression wasn’t changed even in the slightest. It’s what almost everybody asked for. I guess you need more time.

Normandy campaign is a good change and addition, New weapons for moscow
change of squad layouts (some dont get engineer anymore)

What you don’t like
British weapons for american troops? No iconic american weapons like Thompson, BAR. Springfield was mostly used by the USMC i believe, as supply chains differed?
Germans getting italian LMG rather than MG34

Doesn’t make it not stupid to give access to more assaulters, which have been proven to objectively be the strongest class in the game, as with the close-quarters combat for control points, you need the higher DPS.

Sure, subjectively you might not like playing them. But that doesn’t make an objective fact that the tripple assualter squad setup has the highest potential damage output, which allows it to have the highest kill potential.

Never said it was, was just saying I don’t use them at the moment. I do agree that it probably wasn’t the smartest idea! Even a Rifleman 2 squad would have been better, with the ability to mix other squads troops in.

Germany always loses because of tryhards on american team :pensive:

Haven’t gotten the chance to play yet, but I would imagine double squads exist to break down weapon progression so that you don’t need to get one squad to level 80 for an endgame weapon when other squads cap at level 17.

Stuart vs Puma is pretty shit.
Would have much preferred M4 vs PzIV again with Jumbo 76 vs Panther later on in the levels

Finally, something different than the Moscow campaign. I already like the difference between the 1941 weapons and uniforms compared to the 1944, gives me a boost to play on. Nice to see the Puma for a change.

I only played 2 matches so this are my first notes.

What you like

  • The setting. Altough I’m sick and tired of the D-Day setting because every WWII shooter has it, this seems refreshing in some ways. I enjoyed both the maps which I played, the D-Day beach landing and a Conquest map in some sort of a wooden / swampy area. It would be cool to see more maps which are located in the bocage landscapes of Normandy, or the more open areas at Caen (see example pictures below).

  • I only used Axis forces but the uniforms and weapons seems ok. Ofcourse I don’t know what we will see in the future of the Normandy campaign, but a company of Fallschirmjäger would be a nice touch. They played an important role on the American sector of the Normandy Campaign.

What you don’t like

  • The Puma is fine, but why not a Panzer III or Panzer IV vs M4 / M10 tank destroyers? Not really a problem for me, just saying.

  • It looks like the invasion map is set at sunset, the sky is really summer-ish with a few clouds. The real landings were at its height around 7-8 o’clock in the morning. There wasn’t much sun, more of a cloudy-gray day. For example, the thing I really hate from the Battlefield WWII setting were the oversatured colors, it looked like a fantasy summer setting sometimes. I’m not saying this is the case, but please keep in mind the actuel weather conditions during those battles back in 1944, just a nice touch :slight_smile:

For the rest… I have to play more matches to add more notes. Thanks for this campaign.

Maybe a bit off topic but these settings would be cool to see in the Normandy campaign.

I’m at level 18 of Moscow Campaign. I get weapon/reinforcement drops after completing missions, but when I go to cash them in, it says I have 0. Where’d they go??? I get awarded them after mission is finished, but the tally in upper right corner still shows 0 for both.
