Faction war

So, how to put it? When I wanted to propose a traditional clan system, I realized that many players weren’t thrilled with the idea, and I remembered that the game For Honor had created a system that I found revolutionary for its time!

I present to you: Faction Wars!

The goal is simple: dominate the opposing faction with your army, fresh from the camps!

Players place the soldiers they obtain after each battle onto each space.

For example, after a victory, players receive a certain number of units, and after a defeat, they receive slightly fewer.

Every 72 hours, the section containing the most units of one faction is captured, and the battle continues on the next space!

The faction war ends when one of the opposing capitals falls!

Of course, each player can choose their faction, but playing with other countries will not pose any problem because the countries are allied!

I can’t go into all the details here, but you already have a general idea! And don’t forget that factories and commercial areas can be added! This will allow for the semi-permanent supply of certain resources, as it will need to be replenished each season.

Isn’t this the RTS system that was in H&G?
It’s okay, but since there are 4 factions, the key is what to do with Japan in particular.

Japan? No problem, it can be considered a faction in its own right, and if necessary, players can pledge allegiance to Japan and play as Germany! Because, as mentioned previously, these countries are allies!

I mean, Japan on the map.
GE, JP vs. USSR, US
Instead of limiting the map to Europe, they will have to implement both Europe and Asia.
The concern here is the US and JP.
The USSR is between GE and JP, and GE is between US and USSR, so it’s not a problem, but between US and JP is a problem.

Look at the map, it’s a problem that it’s impossible to bite the tail.
Or I can’t think of anything other than adding Australia to the map as a game permission and putting Australia between Japan and Europe.

Wouldnt this just be a popularity contest between each faction?
If germany has 10 000 matches each day but japan can only muster players for 2000 matches a day the winner really should not suprise anyone.

Dude, you’re being negative. Japan and Germany are allies, therefore the rewards that the Axis powers win, the Japanese will also win, and the same goes for the Allies…

Your question is very relevant! Unfortunately, I hadn’t considered that possibility :smiling_face_with_tear:

H&G has balanced the Faction imbalance to some extent with the compensation ratio.
It introduced a function to encourage gambling by increasing the reward ratio for Faction with a small number of participants and lowering the reward ratio for Faction with a large number of participants.

This worked because the game is hard to make money, but I’m not sure if it will work in this game.
It even cost to replenish troops.

Anyway, this is an interesting system, but it’s going to be a few years from now even if it’s implemented.
Because we need to implement a separate matching server (you can’t use the existing matchmaking as it is)
Even if it is implemented, this should be the main match, and the existing matchmaking should be casualized.
Given that this game has so much to deal with right now… I think it’s better to give up.

You have to remember that WWII is already a faction war. And we have 4 factions - although not always directly opposing each other - that are fighting it.

Let’s keep Enlisted a tactical FPS, and not let it bleed into an RTS. As Naohmcete suggested, there are other games for that. HOI4 is a prime example.

mm, tactically hoping when in que that this will be the 1 out of 30 games when you get competent teammates & enemy rather than waste of time steamroll games.

If we’re using hng as example, absolutely nothing forced people to take part on RTS.
This atleast would grant some meaning to each played game, progressing on war map.

That sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. Even with the worst of teammates, a victory can be had, even if you do have to carry everyone to it.

If I want a war to progress on a map, I’ll play a decent RTS, not a tactical shooter.

Quite irrelevant, will you win or lose. Bottomline being the usual steamroll games are boring as fk.

Meta of the game offers quite a little tactical gameplay experience.
Infact I could go far as claim the sims has more tactical gameplay while trying to tactically aset couch.
