The sugestion is very very simple, but there is something more interesting, Make those ammo bags replinish the stationary weapows has well fredily infantry soldiers.
Extra tools will make the engeniers abble to carry more resourcers to build more stuff.

im a fan of being able to add the ammo pouches and grenade pouches to the back pack so u can have more ammo or tools or med kits grenades
i talking about put it in the backpacks we got alerdy, i mean, istead of placing a med kit, place a ammo kit or a tool kit, or repair kit, make sure we got more options to carry up things.
and about the current ammo pouch i guess it is to low just another magazine, make it give at least 4 extra magazines, and the bigguer one 8 extra.
after all. you can always carry two weapows that give you 4 magazines, and i see alot of people doing it has gunners, so have 2 LMG, to got more ammo. that is unfair compared to a ammo pouch, that should give the same ammount of ammo that a extra LMG does.

You already have the perk for engineers allowing you to get more ressources so i doubt they’ll do that
anyway, another source will be interesting. in my opnion at least
